   Is this the truth?

Is it rare for members of the NRA to use firearms irresponsibly?

I can see this as a possibility, although there is no screening for membership , there is a sort of self selection . The main reason for joining the NRA is a taking of personal responsibility.

Perhaps there is just little reason for irresponsible persons to join.

     Can this be so?

I keep going back to the point that we've never seen a "mass shooting" at an NRA convention....or a Gun Show....or any other location where there's a legal proliferation of firearms.  They always seem to occur where the immediate area has been deemed "victims have been warned zone"....I mean, Gun Free Zone

A few days ago I noticed a holstered gun on another client at the bank.

I was a little shocked, but I tried to be cool about it.

He asked the teller for a little information and left.

NBD right?

I wonder if he felt funny the first time he did this.

I read something recently where some lady was more "concerned" about citizens legally carrying firearms, than thugs, rapists and robbers, who generally carry them

Doi thugs rapistrs and murderers generally carry guns, sirs?

As I recall, you had to check your piece with Marshall Dillon in Dodge.
I do not feel safer around ordinary citizens with sidearms. THey are generally never wearing official rapist, thug and murder credentials if that is what they are. I donĀ“t think hanging an NRA badge on them would make me feel any safer.

Nearly all of them carry weapons of some kind, most often a knife or gun

Check it in......where?  My CCW allows me to carry it anywhere in the state, unless desginated a "gun free zone".  If you're indicating that in some locations, such as an NRA convention, I wouldn't know, since I've never been to one.  And Gun Shows are crawling with vendors (ordinary citizens) legally carrying their weapon

I do not feel safer around ordinary citizens with sidearms.

That would be your burden to bear.  I feel a TON safer knowing there are ordinary law abiding CCW holders.  And the fact you don't know they are carrying is precisely why gun violence and violent crime are no where near the problem that they are in areas with heavily restricted gun access for those same law abiding citizens.  And they are NOT the ones who are doing the raping, thugging, or murdering, to begin with

Wyatt Earp did that for real, shortly before the shootout at the OK Corral.
