Watching the Democratic Town Hall tonight

And I can't figure out why the Democrats have not responded more to Governor O'Malley.

He speaks better, looks better, is younger, has executive experience, and is just an all-around better candidate than Hillary and Bernie.

I would be very worried facing a guy like that in the General.

I'm actually quite pleased the powers that be have bought and payed for someone who we should expect to be indicted on Federal charges.  Can you imagine the commercials that could be run by whomever the GOP candidate is?   And the other Democrat alternative is a Socialist?  This is gold for the GOP.  Let's see how they can screw this up and steal a loss from the jaws of victory, this go around

Not really.   Basically Government is necessary for our lives to continue.  The only "progress" can only be achieved thru Government intervention.   Bernie jusf believes it requires exponentially more than Clinton does

Government settled most of the West by subsidizing the roads,  ending Indian attacks, and giving away free land to homesteaders.  The Russians have been far less successful at settling Siberia, and where it is settled, it was done with subsidies from the Tsarist and Soviet governments.

There in no real progress without some form of government cooperation.  If not for the Homestead Act, most of the cattle ranches in the West would never have been created.

And here's the kicker.....no one is advocating we do without Government.  Not even Rand Paul.  The left loves to try and cast the debate as those who favor Government vs those who want to do away with it.  Couldn't be further from the truth, but that doesn't stop to reckless implications.

The arguement is that the Government, in its current form is already too big, too bloated, too inefficient, and too corrupted with lobbyiests and big donating special interests, and yet the left wants to make it that much bigger.

The Right doesn't want to abolish Government, but to simply bring it more in line with the functions its specifically responsible for, as clearly articulated in the Constitution.  If a policy or program is not specifically delegated as a Federal function, than its NOT a function or mandate for the Fed to then bilk tax payers to pay for.  That becomes a state issue.

It's called U.S. Government, 101

Why did the government stop this while there was still plenty to give?

This is exactly what the protesters out west want to happen, and they agree with you that it would be Progress.
