It seems possible that some Europeans were in the Americas before anyone crossed the Bering Strait.

But South American Indians do not resemble Europeans at all.

Thor Heyerdahl proved that it would have been POSSIBLE for Polynesians to reach South America. But it does not seem that this happened very often.

Did the "Melting Pot" start sooner than we had imagined?

That is true.

At least some of the  Ojibway (also known as Chippewa) are fond of the idea that they are distinct from most other tribes, whom they view as inferior.

In 10,000 years, it is likely that no bloodlines would remain pure. The basic stricture of the culture is more likely to remain unchanged.
