What, pray tell , does your "mystery description of Condi Rice have to do with Cheney's alleged philandering?

My prediction is that Cheney will not resign, nor be asked to resign as a result of this or anything else. If there were film of Cheney sodomizing a daschund or possibly a cocker spaniel, or perhaps fisting Juniorbush or Paris Hilton, then he might be forced to resign.

Were Cheney to resign, then the appointment of a replacement VP would cause upheavals in the GOP greater than Watergate.

I don't see impeachment as possible at this late date, however just it would be.

He will go down in history as even more disgraced and disgraceful than Spiro Agnew, however.

In an unrelated incident, Jebbie Bush was named as a director on the board of Tenet Healthcare Systems, one of Florida's least competent private hospital chains. It's only a part time job, but it pays $450,000.

So, are you picking at Jeb Bush because of his family heritage or his job as Governor, Mr. 32K? a year?

I am suggesting, O great one, that Jeb Bush has no expertise in the hospital business, and that a part-time as a director of a healthcare enterprise (and Tenet Healthcare is singularly incompetent, I know this from personal experience) is totally absurd. I suspect that he was given this overpaid job because of his family name. In this way, Tenent will not have to become competent and can continue bilking the public for inferior healthcare.

You are utterly clueless about what I do or how much I earn, not thatr this has one god damned thing to do with the case.

I`m not even sure teacher don`t work in the summer time.
===========================================

Most teachers have the option of working in the summer. It is often paid in peanuts, and NEVER time and a half for overtime. Most often it is less than the per diem paid during the rest of the year.

At my university, I can teach two classes for $4000, four days per week. The full teaching loads during the rest of the year is a starting salary of $32000 (plus medical benefits and a vested 403b) for ten classes. $4000 for two classes is the equivalent of $20K per year, with zero benefits. This amount has been the same for the past ten years.

Being as I have a limited number of summers, I have chosen to not teach in the summer. If I were worse at investing my money, I suppose I'd need to teach in the summers, but luckily, I have a choice.

$32,000? Ouch! The only ones at my college making that little are in the social sciences and humanities. It is probably unfair to many but the market sets the salaries and the market says there are tons of Ph.Ds in the social science and humanities and so therefore they make less.

Is this a private college where funds are less? Summer pay here is 10% of your 9-month contract per course. You are allowed to teach three per summer. Do you have to have a Ph.D there?

I teach in a private college. They have less money than most public colleges. I am NOT a beginning professor, I am a full professor and have a PhD and have been teaching in the same place for over 30 years.

A beginning professor starts at $32 with an MA degree, or did last year. They pay professors more in some fields than others.

They haven't raised the pay for the summer session for 12 years, and I therefore take the summers off.

My house is paid for, and I made my last car payment in 1973.

Worry about your own finances, please.

Pay in academia is indeed set, to a large degree, on discipline, credentials and timing. That is why it is crucial to get what you can get UP FRONT. After that, it is the usualy cost of living increases. Here in Georgia, that means you get from zero to 4% per year, depending upon a great deal of politics.
