What's the most "left-wing" thing that Dan Rather ever did?

Dan Rather once was perceived to have insulted Richard Nixon.

Nixon asked him if he was "running for something".

Rather replied, "No, Mr President, are you?"

This was perceived by the moronic ratwing as being a leftist, commie reply, and ratwing Messsiahs like Rush decided to pummel and thrash him for it.

The fact that Nixon was the smartass in this interchange completely confused them.

When the papers that supported the theroy of President Bush being AWOL as a young officer turned out to be forgerys , Dan Rather continued to insist that the idea was the truth even if all of the evidence was forged.


There was a simular paper for President Clinton , but it was not a forgery and Dan Rather never showed any interest in it.
