I'd like to make a hard-copy archive, or cut-and-paste to my hard-drive or a peripheral storage device, some of my posts. (I often amuse myself with trivial pursuits.) Unfortunately, last I tried, I was unable to print from the compilation of my posts that this service provides. Any thoughts?

Do the same for any other ids you may have. Login, go to user profile and click on users last posts.

If you copy and paste them, and email them to yourself, they'll still be there even if your hard disk dies.

Unless you setup your email to store mail locally (the default for some packages).
