FLORIDA VOTERS DISENFRANCHISED
« on: August 26, 2007, 12:23:31 AM »
FLORIDA VOTERS DISENFRANCHISED? "Florida officials complained that the DNC was going to 'disenfranchise voters,' as it says on the state party's home page."

More here:

Florida lawmakers angrily assailed the Democratic National Committee and its chairman, Howard Dean, saying he is threatening to "disenfranchise" the state's voters by considering a plan to invalidate the state's presidential primary.

Reader John Underriner emails: "They said if Bush was elected Florida Democrats would be disenfranchised -- and they were right!" Funny how those predictions keep coming true.

Considering the acute lack of outrage, I guess it's ok if you're a Dem

Personally, I AM outraged and have voiced my outrage to the appropriate agents.  None of whom post here that I am aware of.

This has totally knocked Dean off the pedestal I've had him on for four years and counting.

Fuck Iowa and New Hampshire.

There should be four weeks of primaries.  The states would be divided up into sections.  Every four years each section gets to go first.

Actually Dean has a point.

The state democrat parties agreed to the schedule, why should they be given carte blanche to change the rules in mid game.

Which candidate profits and which candidate loses when Fla moves up their voting?

Whose momentum does it affect?

Then ask yourself again whether Dean was correct is asserting a bit of control over the situation.

That you're coming to his defense is not a plus for me.

Sadly you are stuck in who-ville instead of what-ville.

We need to get away from that.

When the who continually comes down on the exact opposite side of nearly every issue from me, then I tend to go with predictability.

So you believe that the Florida Dem Party is within it's rights to0 ignore the previously agreed upon schedule for this upcoming primary and schedule it when it damn well pleases?

I don't .

And i comment Dean for trying to maintain some semblance of order to the season.
