It currently covers families who earn up to 200% of the federal poverty level. The states and many have have raised that to 300%.

You undoubtedly know more about it than I do, but apparently 200% of the poverty level still left millions of children uninsured.  Ditto with regard to some of the states who raised it to 300% of poverty level.  How many chldren were covered by the states who raised eligibility to 300% and how many millions of children were left uncovered by the states that didn't?  I don't expect an answer to the question, it's rhetorical, but the point is that obviously, even considering the factors you have mentioned, there are millions of children still without coverage and your "President" could have had them covered for a small fraction of the money that he is willing to blow on the pointless and illegal war in Iraq, where tens of thousands of children have been maimed and killed.

Now that is really fucked up.

As I expected, the low lifes in this forum find nothing wrong with what Stark said.

I however, am to be chatised.

I for one, am all for Juniorbush resigning.

I am not in the military and he isn't my commander in chief. He started the war, the second dumbest one this country had ever been in, after the Civil War.

Since you evaded Serving during Vietnam, would not THAT be the second dumbest one instead of the Civil War?

I think Rep. Stark will find contributions coming in from all over the country.
Same thing happened to MoveOn after their ads.

The only thing wrong with what Stark said was that the rules of Congress apparently don't allow such expressions of disdain for the president or fellow lawmakers. For some reason you figured that amounted to treason, which it isn't.

And I wouldn't give you the satisfaction.

I sure hope so.  Haven't felt this positive about an American politician since the first reports I heard about Howard Dean.    This guy is really deserving of massive support.  He says what needs to be said, unlike most of the chickenshit DLC-approved "leaders."

How dare anyone question the Leader!  >:( I am outraged. I propose that the President immediately disband the treasonous Congress, and allow Vice President Cheney to handpick a qualified "War Congress" to succeed them.

This putrid disloyalty and disservice to the flag, American culture, liberty, freedom, and honor must end.

I followed Rich's advice, so now I have no opinions about anything.  Except this: damn it's hot here.

=========================================================================
Vietnam was a dumb idea alright, and I would rank the war there the third dumbest war, after Iraq and the Civil War.

Vietnam was a land war in Asia, which Dwight Eisenhower correctly identified as something the US should avoid at all costs. The Korean War could have been easily avoided had Truman had a competent State Dept, but he didn;t.

Iraq is a rerun of Vietnam in many ways. Lies to justify the invasion, huge profits for the weapons makers, poor management of the local allies, a near total inability to deal with the locals, stubborn leaders who refuse to acknowledge that they are bungling imbeciles.

I am PROUD of not risking my butt in Vietnam. There is no way my participation, even if I were another Rambo, would have won that war or changed it one bit. Had I been killed, what would I have died for? Had I been maimed, what on Earth for? For naught! For nothing, bupkiss, nada, zewro, zilch.

Twenty ytears from now, what will we  say the soldiers that died in Iraq died for? I suspect the words will be the same, for naught, para niente, para nada for zilch, zero, bupkiss.

The odds are even that the Clinton co-presidency will return to the Whitehouse.

Can we borrow Starks language and style to use on the next denizen of the WH to deserve it?

If it is treason, I hope we see more of it.

Sure, if you don't mind being called mean-spirited.
