Has anyone else read or seen Obama's speech today?

I saw a snippet online right after he made it and then I just read the whole transcript and I hope that it affects you as much as it did me.

I look forward to your comments.

I didn't, but I heard it was his ususal excellent emotionally articulate self.  Public speaking is definately not a weak suit for Obama.  Critically speaking, I also heard it failed to address his poor judgement in dealing with his racist pastor, when he 1st realized how outrageous his comments were.  Apparently skirted right past that, but that he did denounce said racist and hatemongering commentary.

I think he did well, in trying to stop this snowball, and Hillary's probably going to have to resort to crying again

I read it. I thought he hit the right notes. We do need to get past the us vs them mentality. Whether it be political, social, racial or economic.

It rings hollow considering he still belongs to a church that describes itself as African rather than American.

"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."

I don't care what color you are, I want an American to be president, not an African. I don't want a president who has "A congregation with a nonnegotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA."

Obama is a fake and his judgment is seriously in doubt. It took him twenty years to realize Wrights a racist separatist? How long will it take him to realize Hamas is a racist group? Or some other group as yet unknown? The idea that Simone who believes what these people believe can change anything or can bring people together is absurd.

The message is right even if you don't trust the messenger.

BTW was that a quote from Obama or Wright?

Gee, I wonder if he'll figure out that Zionism is inherently racist.

What you don't know about African-Americans could fill several encyclopedias.

Not that you'd read them.

I suppose you'd like it better if his church described itself as shamefully Black and apologetically Christian. Obviously youwould like Balck people a lot more if they were all rightwing loons like Thomas Sowell, who is a rather inferior and darker version of the unadmirable Sean Hannity or something.

Hamas is Islamist. Islam is not a race. It might not be such great shakes as a religion, but it's not a race, nor is it racist.

I don't have a higher opinion of Hamas than I do of Zionism. Both are intolerant nutbars. The best thing about Hamas is that I am not taxed to support them, being as I don't use petroleum for anything more than a lubricant. I guess if you use petroleum in your car you pay more than I do.

Well X, I have about the same opinion of you as I do of Hamas.

Well isn't that clever?

You want to kill me for having a different opinion than yourself.

I see you removed your desire to shoot me from the post.

How clever of you.
