No Apology From Carville

No Carville apology for Judas remark

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton adviser James Carville is refusing to apologize for comparing New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson to Judas.

Carville made the comparison to The New York Times after Richardson, once a member of President Clinton's Cabinet, endorsed Hillary Clinton rival Barack Obama last week for the Democratic presidential nomination. Carville called it an "act of betrayal," and pointed out that it came during Holy Week.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out (Jesus) for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," he said.

Richardson told "Fox News Sunday" that he wouldn't respond by getting "in the gutter like that."

"That's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton," Richardson said. "They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Carville told CNN on Monday that Richardson had committed an "egregious act" and he intended to make a sharp response to it.

"I wanted to use a very strong metaphor to make my point," Carville said. "I doubt if Governor Richardson and I will be particularly close in the future."

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters Monday that he didn't agree with Carville's comment.

"If I had said it, I would apologize," Wolfson said. "I did not say it, and if I had I would, but that's up to him."

Richardson served as ambassador to the United Nations and energy secretary during the Clinton administration.

No.  If he meant what he said, that's fine.

All of this is pure entertainment. It keeps folks on their rhetoric toes. Even Larry King is focused on the issue tonight. Entertainment.
Let's hear more about the issues....who is going to point the strategic yet disingenuous finger at Bush for telling the American people that we would be out of Iraq sooner than later, never calling this "engagement" a full out war, which is what it IS?
Who is going to push for the points for change overall?

Trust?
Ok...Obama seems to have a genuine track record. HE voted against the war. He has integrity.

Nasty Democratic battle Royale!? It's nothing like the lies spread by the previous two term president...Bush has lied to the American public. That's worse than anything. I concur with Chris Matthews. He is someone to watch and listen to in the media. He makes the most sense.

Perhaps Bill Richardson is going to slide into some position in the new administration...but the road is narrow, for that wish currently......the road is less traveled via Obama, but you have to give Richardson kudos for timing. He has been around long enough to slip in that last minute nudge.

Obama is no different from Kennedy in terms of the underdog. Catholic was the minority back when....Obama is a black male, albeit a man who has less experience. He reminds me of the JFK of yesteryear....I support him. I think he will learn on teh job....He will be no worse than what we have NOW. HE's a very smart man.

Can McCain win? Can the "right" lead again? Ok, then, I have to say Part of me wants to see that happen. Our national defense was at an all time high. BUT, BUT... The fault of the path of that defense rests  with Bush. He tried to plant beans all the while praying for peas and got soup....nuts. Soup slop nuts.
It is not the fault of the Republican. Nor is THE NCLB act...but that is to be seen and revisited...it will iron out, I have hope.

Obama vs Clinton. Either one will be fine. I have hope for THE PEOPLE this time around.

4000 dead men and women not to mention war wounds which were not necessary. War is hell, but a hellish called conflict that was never supposed to be A WAR, is a crime.

Bush wasn't a very good leader. There's nothing worse. I see that daily in my work world.

Trust me, there's nothing worse. Money, blueblood, Texan, whatever...Bush was not good enough. Period

Now we need to make everyone disavow everything.

If they do, it proves they are wrong.

If they don't, it proves they are rude, or uncaring, or racist or whatever.

I suggest that this is a game for idiots.

Governor Richardson just had an early Christmas gift.  Who'd want to be friends with that cicada-headed dude anyway?  (No offense to cicadas.)
