Hooting ratwing yokels brag about how one of them is literate
« Reply #1 on: June 09, 2008, 08:21:52 AM »
The white-haired guy brings new meaning to the word "dithering", as in "dithering idiot".

Supposedly, we are to assume that this bill was passed SECRETLY because the Republicans were ignorant of it. What, they were stricken by what--a sudden stroke of what, illiteracy? The second fool claims he deserves a Pulitzer Prize for reading a bill. READING a bill.

Which he does not define: over how many years is this to be spent? How does it not overlap aid the US always gives?

Mostly, the US government lends money to other countries to allow them to buy surplus commodities that would otherwise cost vast amounts of money as they rot in warehouses.

Neither of these hooting yokels should be taken seriously

I guess you're showing how much of an idiot you are.

Neither of them made a claim that the bill was passed in secret.

Listen again, and READ THE CAPTION.

Secretly added to the agenda does not equal passed in secret.

Not in the real world, anyway.

It means the minority party was surprised and could not rally opposition to the bill.

I'm glad their bringing this out.

I'm excited to hear that our money will go to help people in poverty rather than people at Halliburton.

It is, however, true that the money will be spent completely overseas - thereby making a lie out of Obama's claim that he will spend US money on the US first.

Interesting take on that.

Not if it's food aid. They will issue credit, and that credit will be valid only for buying the food the US wishes to sell. What the US will wish to sell is food that it has bought from farmers under price support programs that is now being stored at government expense.

It could save money, as the food will not need to be stored any longer, or thrown away as spoiled.

This bill, however, will not be "food aid".

It's a check to the UN, and the UN will decide how to disperse the money, not the US.

You need to stop "assuming" and look things up before speaking.
