don`t get me wrong I love my land of birth, but this place of yours got alot going for it.
note he went throught community college.

this concept about how poor U.S. educations is so off kilter.
nobody except me keeps pointing out how unusually available education is here compared to the rest of the world.
yeah the swedish honors kids are better than our honors kids.
but are school actually teach more stuff to get people work
meaning almost everybody in the U.S. can learn a trade in the U.S.
that`s just not  truely possible in the rest of the world
except maybe cuba.

Education is available to anyone who really tries. The emphasis is on the really tries part.
Of the students I taught, I think about one in five actually tried to learn sincerely the other four were only interested in passing.

I don't think Swedes have much difficulty finding jobs, either.

Cubans get a good education, but unless you work in the tourist industry, the jobs do not pay enough to survive on.

I`m not saying americans are motivated people, just that they have more options.
but to be fair culturally speaking it does tend to be anti-work.
a new movie is coming out called wanted and it slams the life of the office worker.
which greatly offends me.
I glory in the life in the office.

The tourist industry isn't a niche industry, though.  It employs a hefty chunk of the labour force.  The workers are encouraged to build their own homes aided by government with low-cost loans and materials, and schooling and health care are free

The basic problem is that the government has failed to bring electricity, potable water and other amenities to the countryside, and no one wants to farm anymore. So Cuba, one of the most fertile countries on the planet, with two or three growing seasons, cannot feed itself. No one wants to be a farmer. Last year Cuba imported sugar from Brazil.

The only way to live in the society that the free education has given everyone is to move to the cities, and of course, then you are not farming. Weeds have overgrown a lot of the good cropland.
