House Judiciary subcommittee where he was required by subpoena to testify. Not only did he refuse to appear before the committee -- let alone testify --

The courts have made clear that no one, not even the president, is immune from compulsory process. Any person who scoffs at the law and who has committed an offense that is punishable by jail time should be put in jail. This includes Karl Rove.

She is one of 435 representatives. She's right, Rove is in contempt, and at the very least, this case should go to the Supreme Court.

It is likely that if Rove is convicted, Juniorbush will pardon him, as he did Scooter.

It is more likely that Bush will not be President, if and when Rove is convicted.

You'd think they would try to hurry it along so that "turd blossom" might be sprung if convicted.
It should not take too long: Congress subpenoed him, he refused to go, saying he was executively privileged.
The courts should rule on this soon. I see no reason for them or him to tarry.

Congress is known for tarrying, especially when it comes to putting teeth to political grandstanding.

It would be to Rove's advantage to get him sentenced and pardoned before the elections. This would also be to the advantage of the Democrats, who could point out that another dirty trickster (and who could call Rove anything else?) was brought to justice.

If Rove thinks he can somehow refuse to testify before Congress and get away with it (and it seems typical of Rove to think he can get away with it: he has gotten away with so much), then it makes sense for him to prolong it. But after Jan 20, Juniorbush cannot pardon his tubby little butt.

I doubt the next administration will anxious to waive executive privilege either.

I'd say the president has executive privilege.
Perhaps the members of the Cabinet, too.

NOT a political affairs consultant, NOT a media spinner like Rove.

The country would be better off with zero Carl Roves in the government. He was and is a detriment to good government.
