All political speeches are written by others and coached. Not that it showed so much with Lieberman, Romney and Giulani, all of whom were hideously partisan and would convince no one of anything.

She may have had help in drafting the speech, I'm pretty sure she and other political speakers put the finishing touches on it themselves making it their own.

The cynical view says the speech is all about the "message" discounting the importance to the politician of protecting the "brand" , the brand being their perceived image. A less cynical view says they want the speech to be true to themselves. She would have final say in what goes in it, how it is phrased , in other words she would write it.

I imagine it will only be a matter of days before we can buy Obama, McCain, Palin and maybe even Biden "action figures".

If you are a wise collector, you will buy the "Biden Action Figure", by the way.

I'd say Biden has the better chance. To the Oligarchy, Palin is just another C. Danforth Quayle, but one without the rich family.

It is actually extremely well-known that Matthew Scully(another Bushian despite the attempted distancing) wrote the speech and indeed had some generic sections written before Palin was announced. She was also sequestered with several McCain aids for days before she was let out to meet him at the airport. They were either prepping her or engaging in an orgy like they have in Alaska on those long , cold winter nights.
