Palin is clueless. She would be a pawn of advisers of the Dick Cheney sort.
Isabel Peron the second.

So who is pulling Obama's strings?

Why Isabel Peron?  Just curious, XO?

=================================
Juan Peron's second wife, Evita was proposed for VP of the Republic, but the miltary refused to accept her. She died in 1953 of cancer at the age of 33. Perno was thrown out in 1955 and went to Spain in exile fr many years. While he was away, he met and married Isabel, an Argentine whose talent was dancing in nightclubs. After several military coups and much instability, the military finally unbanned Peron's Justicialista party and Peron returned in 1974 and was president for nine months until he died. This time, he managed to get Isabel awarded the vice presidency. Upon hes death, she was named the 42nd president of Argentina.

Isabel was vastly less competent than Evita, and took most of her advice from an astrologer named Lopez Rega. She was clueless about practically everything

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isabel_Mart%C3%ADnez_de_Per%C3%B3n

But she did have a manner of speaking which sounded like a dancehall girl tryng to imitate the deceased Evita.

So who is pulling Obama's strings?

The question assumes that Obama's strings are being pulled. Recall, please that he was nominated as a result of the voters selecting him in a long series of primaries. So you could say that the voters put him where he is through a deocratic process. He seems to be pulling his own strings with regard to issues.

Not so Palin, who was selected by just one person--John McCain, and was then sequestered and prevented from saying anything to anyone by the handlers appointed by McCain. Like Isabel Peron, she owes her national fame to only McCain, and her own ambition, since she took an oath of office to serve a term as Alaska's governor, which she wil not be able to fulfill if elected VP. Essentially she was chosen to prove that McCain, who is only occasionally in disagreement with the inept GOP bureaucracy, is in fact a "Maverick", an unbranded steer separated from the herd, to cause the base of the Party, who dislike McCain for not rubberstamping all of Juniorbush's decisions because she has bnoneheaded stands on rightwing cultural issues like abortion and religion, and to woo women who liked Hillary more for her gender than her abilities and her beliefs.

So, how will Obama be able to fulfill his oath to serve a term as his state's Senator if he's elected?

But Palin was sooooo good at rooting out all that corruption. And she had not served even two years.

I think everyone with half a brain knew that McCain, Biden and Obama had higher aspirations when they elected them. All had either run before for president or been touted as a possible candidate.

Palin was specifically elected to root out all that corruption.

We aren;t hearing anything more about Alaska corruption these days, are we?

Palin had nothing to do with the Stevens investigation, which was run by the Feds, and began before her election. The corruption she was supposed to go after was in the state legislature.

BT,

At the risk of sounding completely dumb....LOL...which I was with the response to your question....I ACTUALLY DID know that the Speaker of the House is next up on deck.
I'll never forget when Haig thought that he was "in charge here" after Reagan was shot.

Oh well, I was watching the game last night and not in my full political mind,  I had lost sight of my original "point-post". I wasn't asking the specific name of our current Speaker of the House.

I was actually trying to make a point in the original post(before the rain delay)

Point: With all the recent scrutiny on a candidate's experience, knowledge base, health, etc. then hell, Americans  need to pay closer attention to the key players who are 3rd and even 4th in line.

With that said,  New Point;    The threat of terrorism is not apparently a home grown threat and something we need to be concerned about overseas.

GOd forbid that someone will try to kill Obama IF he wins this election. As Whoopi said on The View this morning;

We have come a long way in this country, but we forget sometimes that racial hatred still exists.

Whoopi adds to the problem when she asks John McCain whether she needs to worry about being sold into slavery if he gets elected and appoints strict constructionists to the Supreme Court.

Well, I have to say that the ladies on the view are a joke. I like the passion that the liberal ladies hold, but the "new one" as Regis Philbin calls her, Elizabeth is quick and smart. I enjoy watching her battle all four of the other women, including Barbara.

Yes and the govenor she replaced , who was the real ally of the senator who is in trouble ....

But after a small amount of complexity shows up , a large amount of confusion follows.

Is the conservative one a token , or is it really hard to find a second one?
