When I think of President Obama as my commander-in-chief . . .

I'm filled with pride. I look forward to serving under him.
   19%
I'm worried and doubt I'll re-up when my time comes.
   53%
I'm ready to salute and follow his orders.
   27%

There is no reason to have a draft.

What needs to happen is to give up imperialism.

I'm ready to salute and follow his orders.
   27%

100% of these guys gave an oath to obey orders. Obama has yet to give a single order.

It is not Obama's fault that enlistments are highest among people who think the US should run about threatening people in other countries with guns.

Time to take the Fi in Semper Fi seriously. This is a democracy. The obligation of the military is to obey the orders of the elected leaders, and they take an oath to do that. Not 27% of them, all 100% of them.

And no, it does not "look like Obama will have to re-enstate the draft". What it looks like is that the country will have to give up imperialism, which, by the way, is NOT required by the Constitution, which I suspect you have not read, because you seem to understand very little of it.

========================

I have observed that each and every one of the clowns who say this are all rightwing dolts, all f whom lack "fucking clues". You are a prime example of this group.

Aforementioned dolts don't even know what the word "republic" means. So here ois your lesson for today, since doesn't have it on his brainwashing agenda.

It is from Latin, and means "res publica" or public thing. All it means is that the leaders are members of the public, not hereditary monarchs. Rome was a Republic until they started calling their leaders Emperors, and even then, the office was seldom hereditary.

Germany under Hitler was a republic by the usual definition, as there was no Kaiser (German for Caesar, by the way).

When the public chooses one of their members by an election, then you have a democracy.

Democracy means RULE BY THE PEOPLE. What we have in the US is a REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY which means we elect representatives to make laws and enforce them, as opposed to the entire electorate voting on each law and its enforcement, which was difficult to manage even in the smaller Greek city-states.

=========
Of course this has NOTHING to do with my point that 100% of the military has vowed to obey the elected leader of this country, who will be Obama after January 20th. If they re-enlist when their time is up, that is their choice. I suspect that lots of people would be more willing to enlist and serve under President Obama rather than a President Juniorbush.

I guess I have to repeat it.

Get a fucking clue. You're fantasies and spin do not change the fact this is a REPUBLIC.

Dolt.

In other words, as was said in the first place, a republic. For all your raving about what a republic is and how stupid are people who say that we live in a republic, you seem to have missed that a republic is a state where the people elect representatives to (allegedly) act on their behalf in governing the state. So all of your ranting amounts to naught. Seems to me if you're going to bitch about people not knowing what a word means, you might at least be bothered to look up the definition of the word yourself.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

What we have in the United States is  a pluralistic representative democracy, which is at the same the devoid of a monarch, and there for one form of republic. Again, a republic means rule by the public, the means of which can be, but is not limited to, determined by elections.
