They all get the slap on the wrist and the fine.  It's endemic to the system, where the primary regulators come from the ranks of the regulated.   I would have thought the million would have at least killed the laying of the charges.

I don't know about Bacanovic, but Martha Stewart is the author of her own misfortune.  They offered her a plea bargain that a fucking idiot would have accepted, but she insisted on going to trial.

White House: Obama Did Not Take Goldman PAC Money, Will Not Return Donations

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs denied President Obama took any PAC money from Goldman Sachs, therefore he will not return any of it.

GIBBS: "Anybody that contributed to the campaign at any point knew where the President stood on Wall Street."


Can you imagine if this were Bush and company that decided not to return any of these donations??  It'd be 24/7 news coverage
