Well we can agree to disagree. I flew to Chicago on Friday and came back on Friday.
Everyone was polite, respectful, and seemed to be sincere about what they do....keeping me safe.
I personally thank every single TSA officer I have contact with for the difficult & thankless job they have.
I always say "I really appreciate the work you do...thank you"....
and they seem to really appreciate the 1 in 1000 people that realize the crap they deal with on a daily basis.
Empathy is a pretty rare thing.
Sure there are bad apples in every profession....name one that doesn't have bad apples?
As far as I know since the TSA has been doing their job, have there been any US domestic incidents?
TSA officers are like policemen....they have a difficult job & a lot of people treat the police & TSA like shit.
But put yourselves in their place for a day...dealing with people in a hurry-late for planes...rude people.
Cops and "TSA are on power trips"....sounds like Jesse Jackson.
And those that trash the TSA.....whats the other so wonderful solution?
Have no screening?...Bin Laden's Boys would love that!
Hire private?...Ok...fine....but the bitching would end up being the same.
Difficult job and the customers are almost always pissed....

I have no complaints about TSA officials.

They have never given me any trouble.

They went through my bag and left a note when I was returning from Honolulu. Nothing was missing. Maybe it was because it was the only backpack on the plane, or at least there were no other backpacks that came off before it. It was about the 15th bag off the plane, which is unusual, but I just picked it up and left as soon as I had to.

I met a few nice ones too.

Leaving Detroit one time a TSA worker wearing his Arab head-cloth wouldn't let my wife through security because when I booked the ticket on-line I misspelled her name, BFD. No problem flying out but this frigging jerk created a major issue over one letter and we had to go back to the airline co for a note. It was a hassle and totally uncalled for.
