Are you asking me what I'd do if they don't de-fund the war?

Because if they did the Bushidiot would leave all of them in Iraq to die and probly enjoy it.

Nothing of value to add to the debate, i see.

What else is new

Only in your unhumble opinion. have you any doubt that he would leave them there. I dont and I think he would get his rocks off on grtting one on all the rest of US by doing it. It makes the moron look strong leader -like in his demented mind.

Actually ... if any one would leave troops stranded and defenseless, especially Marines, it would be you , based on your previous writings.

That is fairly tepid, isn't it. Hardly the Brass standard for expressing displeasure.

Is this the new Brass?

Well, first of all, I never actually said that would be my favored course of action.  That was sort of an add-on after you tried to goad it out of me that I would callously cut off funds to the war (interpreted by partisans as "screwing the troops") and I answered with complete honesty and told you I didn't know if that would inadvertently place the troops in danger so I wouldn't be the one pressing for that.  If it was demonstrated to me that de-funding would NOT put the troops in harm's way, then I would be for that, but it wouldn't be my favored course.

The maneuvering would be a political move and it could be easily misrepresented by partisans and it really serves no purpose.  It's not like that money can't be re-appropriated.  It's like putting quarters in a dryer and taking the clothes out when they're dry and you can't get the remaining time back in quarters.  They won't have to go on fighting till the money runs out.  So, repealing the authority is the real action.

So, I won't feel any real impulse to go activist to make them de-fund the war if they will just go ahead and repeal the authority, take control of the situation and start the drawdown.

My tepid attitude is only directed at "de-funding the war".  If that insinuates that I'm partisan, I can't help that.  I can only tell you what I'd do or what I hope that congress does.

Perhaps you are assigning motives to my questions that aren't necessarily there.

Deauthorizing the war would i believe trigger a reaction in  6 months, i would have to reread the war powers act to know for sure.

Defunding the war would have a more immediate reaction.

I was just curious about how high a priority it is to bring the troops home.

Any move will be political.

The question is how much heat should congress feel, to do, in what your opinion is,  the right thing to do.

I am not in a position to do it, but the Bushidiot is and would in a heartbeat to look like a strong leader. He is just like the infamous Chesty Puller the USMC Commandant that would trade a bushel full of dogtags for one Medal of Honor.

Of course you aren't. But you are on record as despising Marines and Bush isn't so i would think my assertion about you is more plausible than your assertion about Bush.

If de-funding the war would bring the troops home sooner and wouldn't endanger them, then I'd be for that.

Of course you would think so and you still would be wrong as usual. Bush has no respect for anyone who doesnt kiss his ass like you guys.

Can you easily show a quote from Bush showing he doesn't respect the troops.

I can easily come up with many where you show disrespect.

=======================================================
Actually, this is a case where actions speak louder than words.

Sending men off to die in an ill-conceived, unnecessary war with no clear objectives, no strategy for exit, insufficient ways of communicating with the locals shows a singular lack of respect for their lives.

Juniorbush doesn't respect the voters or the people of this country much either.

But to expect a dickhead to stand on a podium and announce:
"Hey, y'all, I am a dickhead!"
might be expecting far too much.

So not only can't you show a direct quote but neither can the folks at huff post.

What else is new.
