net neutrality is the concept that all data is treated equally. That an email is as important as a video.
proponents want to keep it the way it is: First come first served.
opponents want to be able to guarantee "quality of service" which means that some data is delivered end to end faster than other data , if you are willing to pay more for that service.
Primarily opponents want to offer content providers this option, the cost of which will likely end up being paid for by end users.
Think Youtube modelled after Itunes.
