I know lots of talented young people that want to become teachers
and they dont care if they have to pay for parts of their pension like almost everyone else.
The Left's cries that the "sky is falling" when we correct disgraceful gvt practices is ridiculous.
"Oh just raise taxes" is not gonna work anymore....the people are tired of it!
With Obama uneployment sitting at 9% or higher it wont be a problem to replace the fools.
Gvt is going to brought under control...so people wont be able to "avoid a state"

My pension was a 403(b) that started out at 3% of my salary when the plan began and went up to 8%, but I had to match this amount or better. The best feature was that I had the option of  moving money out of it into mutual funds of my own choosing. Most pensions are far more restrictive.

It is normal for teachers to have collective bargaining. It is abnormal for this not to be the case. You should ask all those young people who want to teach whether they would choose to pay more into their pensions or less. I suggest that I know more about this as I have worked in education for 40 years and you have not.

What also keeps getting ommitted by Xo is sure, if Teachers don't want to put more in their pensions fine...but its the tax payers paying that difference.  So, the real issue is to take that component off the table, THEN re-ask if those teachers want to put more or less into their pensions

Wisconsin is about 25th in what it pays its teachers. What needs to happen is that they need to tax greedheads like CU4.
