Glenn Beck you're late!
« on: April 04, 2011, 10:08:29 PM »
Glenn.....I been saying this for months/years!
Ok...maybe you did too.
And I still think it's better than 50/50 chance!
And sorry to say.....if she runs....she probably wins!

Probably not going to happen.

It might be a better idea to have Hillary as a candidate than Obama, but I doubt it will happen.

If a dem enters to run to the left of Obama the chances of Hillary entering the race go up exponentially.

Think Gene McCarthy softening the target for Bobby Kennedy.

Biden is done after the first term
Hillary would help as VP
But I think deep down Obama & Hillary don't like each other & they don't trust each other
Of course that wouldn't be a first....JFK and LBJ had no love lost
Obama may try and stop the bleeding and beg Hillary to be VP
Biden is no help and may even hurt
Young, unknown, inexperienced Obama needed Biden the first time, not this time
Hillary as VP would help bring a new image...."we're gonna get it right this time"
The question is would she do it?
She would still make history....which is vitally important to her
but the grand prize would allude her once again
4 years later she may be too old to try and run for a first term
but I guess Reagan & McCain weren't exactly youngsters & women live longer
a strong primary challlenge from within his own party would not be good for Nov chances
The Democrats can avoid disaster if Obama can talk her into being VP

The biggest problem that the Republicans have is finding just one candidate that has more positives than negatives.

Although Trump thrills "Christians" by claiming that all birthers are not morons, it will require more useful statements than that to win over the independents.

Intelligence and income are not directly related.

This is quite fortunate in your case.

But there is a correlation between the two and clearly there are many more smart people that are rich or shall I say wealthy over dumb rich people, excluding lottery winners, rap stars, some athletes, heiresses, and people with dumb luck.

What is your excuse?

I like a lot of what Trump says.
I like that he does not care about political correctness.
He is a game-changer....he wouldn't play by established rules
I like that he makes the establishment uncomfortable....the "you cant say that" crowd
He says what he believes & doesn't give a damn if everybody else is scared to say the same
But.....I seriously doubt Trump has a chance...for two reasons
He has a double whammy to overcome....most just have the other party to overcome
He has to oversome the typical media bias that will demonize him because he's not a leftist
Plus he would have to overcome the Republican establishment that likes "wait your turn"
Trump allows the real nominee "to hide" in that the Left has nothing to shoot at
Invisible targets present lots of problems for an opponent.
Obama will keep getting hammered...
While the Republican can stay in the shadows so Katie Couric will have less time to demonize.
It's great we dont have a "front runner" at this point in time...
It's great we dont have a presumed nominee at this point.
Thats not weakness...thats a strength
That's basically how we won the 2010 elections.....no national leader per se...no target
he he ha ha!

I can think of 4 GOP Governors off the top of my head that would be acceptable to me:
Christie
Kasich
Walker
Daniels

Probably in that order.

All fiscal conservatives. And if the economy continues to tank, those are your kitchen table guys.

the only help for the us economy is for the checkbook to be put into adults hands. the prospect of seeing the gov shut down makes me tingle all over.

USPS is not reliant on federal funds.

i thought it borrows money from the U.S. Treasury to pay its deficits?

a government shutdown will force a prioritization of funds. Mail is important as is military but 75% of monies spent are unnecessary. I say shut it down and that will force the politicians to sharpen their pencils. After all, they won't get paid until they come up with some solutions!
