Donald makes excellent points here. Only a partisan hack would disagree!

Donald Trump Responds

To the Editor:

Re “Donald Trump Gets Weirder,” by Gail Collins (column, April 2):

Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me.  Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers), is not at a very high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!

As far as her comments on the so-called “birther” issue, I don't need Ms. Collins's advice. There is a very large segment of our society who believe that Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don't know.

He has not been able to produce a “birth certificate” but merely a totally unsigned “certificate of live birth”-which is totally different and of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, many things could have happened, but some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits thereto. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a United States citizen.

The term used by Ms. Collins-“birther”-is very derogatory and is meant in a derogatory way. Had this been George Bush or almost any other President or Presidential aspirant, they would never have been allowed to attain office, or would have been thrown out of office very quickly.

For some reason, the press protects President Obama beyond anything or anyone I have ever seen. What they don't realize is that if he was not born in the United States, they would have uncovered the greatest "scam" in the history of our country.  In other words, they would become the hottest writer since Watergate, or beyond.

Open your eyes, Gail, there's at least a good chance that Barack Hussein Obama has made mincemeat out of our great and cherished Constitution!

Since the President's mother was indisputably a native-born American citizen, his citizenship has never depended on his proof that he was born in the USA. If either parent is an American, you are an American, that is in the Constitution.

Trump is not the dummy his birther rantings seem to indicate that he is. After all, he was mute on this issue until recently. Huckabee made some stupid unfactual comment about young Obama growing up in Kenya and being indoctrinated by the Mau-mau, and had to take it back, but he got a whole lot of kluxers defending him nonetheless. Trump is simply capitalizing on this.

So now Trump, who is not the preacher that Huckabee is, and who has never governed anything as Huckabee did, is using this issue to claim the kluxer vote as his own, and it is going rather successfully for him. All the resident kluxers are cheering him on.

But he has no real chance of getting the nomination, and he won't win as a third party candidate.

I don't see why the questions arising from the mysteries surrounding Obama's birth has anything to do with race.

It has everything to do with race, but only if you are a race-baiter. Otherwise you are correct, it's mute to you & me. Also, Obama ran on race, his resume is thick with race, he called Al Sharpton last week because of race, and first thing in the morning he wakes up, looks in the mirror, and says to himself damn I'm a handsome black man.

The racists cannot recognize that a Black man has been elected president of the United States. Obvioulsy, the racists will not admit that they are, in fact, racists, so they have to find some other means of expressing their obsession that this Black man with a funny name is not a legitimate president. So they harp on how his birth was not a valid birth, and how his birth certificate is not a valid birth certificate.

All this birther crap is simply racists crap in a poor disguise.

Trump is shameless and is happy to settle for support from a small, kluxeresque segment of the population, which is still a huge market share for his TV show in which he is best noted for firing people.

Perhaps he is actually toying with the idea of running for president. Why shouldn't he? He has tons of money, and is less weird than Ross Perot, and the press took Perot seriously.

Not true at the time Obama was born. If Obama was born outside the US, the law on the books at that time stated if only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16." Barack Obama's father was not a U.S. citizen and Obama's mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means the mother would fail the test.

Obama is no more Black than he is white.
Put away the racism crutch.
Reality is what it is.
You fool...Obama is just as much white.

Obama is Obama.  He could be green.  Bottom line is he's a horrible president, not because of color, but because of policy, because of arrogance, and because of piss-poor judgement.  Race doesn't even make the top 100

Exactly SIRS.....most of the people XO demagogues as racists would gladly vote for a Black Conservative.
The racism charge is a frequent cop-out/crutch Liberals have pre-programmed to try and end discussions.

This video addresses this disease....that liberals....a.k.a "control freaks" suffer from:

You say it is racist but offer no proof. You do realize that the first folks who brought up Obama's citizenship were the Clinton folks and since they are dems and Maya Angelou called Bill the first black president they can not be racist.

Maya Angelou and her opinions have not one damn thing to do with the teabaggers being racists.

And everyone knows that anyone who looks like President Obama will clearly be identified as Black by every Black or White person in this country. If you are half-Black, you are not White.

As for the rightwingers voting for Blacks they like, that is pure conjecture, and they will never be given that chance. The GOP is not going to run any Black person for president for the next 30 years.

Yet again, with no proof/evidence to support the asinine claim

Frankly, neither your opinion that the teaparty is racist doesn't make them racist.

You want a one word description of the teaparty?

XO you are the racist here, you have proven that time after time with your dumb comments. I feel sorry for you because you are ignorant to your ignorant and just plane dumb racism claims. How sad that you can't see the racism in Affirmative Action, how sad that you race-bait people that have legitimate concerns about Obama's politics and qualifications to be president. How sad that you have no arguments or debate tactics except for sophomoric name-calling and labeling. You are truly a Democrat through and through; you Dems are all the same, you can't debate with logic because you have no logical positions. Your self-centered religion has ruined millions of lives both black and white. If you and Cynthia Mckinney had a baby it would look and act like Obama.
