Breaking News: Bush and Cheney on Commando Raid
« on: May 08, 2011, 04:19:44 PM »
Out of respect for the fact that Bush and Cheney were in office during 9/11 President Obama asked them if they would like to go along on the mission to assassinate Bin Laden. They both said that they would. However, at the last minute, Cheney requested a deferment and Bush got drunk and went AWOL.

President Almost Single-Handedly Kills bin Laden

Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda mastermind of the 9-11 attack on America, was slain at his hideout in
Pakistan last weekend by the incredibly brave and gutsy US President Barack Obama?s timely action.

Admittedly, others may have played minor supporting roles. Interrogators working under former
President George Bush may have extracted vital information from captured terrorists using now forbidden techniques.
Military experts may have used this information to craft an assault plan. An elite team of Navy Seals may have successfully
carried out the assault plan using stealth technology that enabled them to penetrate Pakistani territory without being
detected. But none of this would've have been possible without the President?s key vote of ?present? when it came time
to give the go ahead.

The execution would never have happened if Obama hadn't graduated from Jr Senator to president. Remember he said the surge in Iraq was not working (but it did work) so anyway now that he's president he's on-board with all the things that Bush did, i.e. torture, Gitmo, war, spending. I guess it boils down to this: it's really hard to celebrate when it's some other persons party but when it's your party it's easy to be happy, supportive, and on-board!

It will be fun watching him defend his actions now that the shoe is on the other foot!!!

Oh and he is really cool too.

Obama is in favor of closing Gitmo, which is costing a huge fortune, but Congress will not allow it. He has never authorized waterboarding.

He had congress for 2 years.  Even a lame duck one, where they could have passed pretty much anything Obama wanted.  Sorry, you're not going to be able to paint this on Republicans, or even congress

He has never authorized waterboarding.

Who said he had??  In fact, it was policies of the Bush administration, which included waterboarding, that directly assisted in the taking down of bin Laden

The way to avoid this that President Obama seem to have chosen is to take a lot fewer prisoners.

I can't even say this is a bad choice , but it isn't milder than piling them up in Guantanimo.
