oops I should mention fringe groups who warp concepts of science for reason I can`t explain. not really belong to any groups really. ex. health advocates who believe vaccine never worked but used holistic medicine which uses the very same concepts of vaccines.

some of these folks say moden medicine doesn`t work at all ,only herbal works.

p.s.jews being called evil not exactly a new concept ever

I just want my borg implant so I don`t need to surf the web with any external hardware. but we barely have any thought control tech now. I wonder if the devices in tekwars is viable?

I thought we`re supposed to get wearable computers by now(jetpack not included).

This whole discussion started off with the question , "Will banners and skywriting on July 4th convince an appreciable number of people to admit they are Atheists?", and as I said, I do not think so.

This might work quite well if you manage to hire the flying spagetti monster to tow the banners.

The Church of the FSM is simply a spoof religion created for the purpose of amusement, like the Church of the SubGenius.

It probably proves that pilots of these ad agencies think that if they flit around supporting atheism, they will lose business from others who will hire their competition. I suppose there could be a few who would refuse to advertise atheism because of personal convictions, but probably more feel that it would keep them from getting other business from people like wedding planners, concert promoters, and others who use sky banners and skywriting.

Short ads like this probably convince no one.

I doubt that, I think thiers more of them than the general population thinks. but the fact they like making a living wage would make most of them not advertise it. when I tell folks I listen to athiest podcast it never positive response. alot of christians don`t differentiate atheist with satanist. also in the podcast it`s hardly flattering to christains. note I say christians not religion. thats no slipup. they go very easy with others.

A pilot does not have to be interested in Betty to take money to fly with the message "George loves Betty". The motivation is not an interest in Betty, but in money.

The same case would apply in flying a message for some Atheist group.

Atheists do not particularly interest me, it is the way people react to Atheists that is interesting.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is humorous, but it is not taken seriously as a true religion by anyone. That is all I said. I did not "dis" it.

If refuseing to take it seriously is not a disrespect , what would be?

Imagine yourself hired to translate something important.

And it turns out to be propaganda you personally found offensive.

           Does it matter?

If it appeared to me that it was going to be used for some evil purpose, I would refuse to translate it. I would not translate instructions informing Al Qaeda operatives to make a bomb, for example.

I translated a lot of stupid advertising hype and crap about time share condos one would have to be a moron to buy into Spanish for 6 cents per word over a couple of years back in the 80's, though.

There was also an informercial for some phony diet crap I translated into English as well. I figured that anyone with a brain would have to be a fool to send money into any of these.

I would not be opposed to translating Mormon or Jack Chick stuff into either language. Religions don't normally harm anyone, after all. But I never got an offer. As a rule, missionary groups get their stuff done for free. Not necessarily all that well done, but passable.

What I refused to translate was anyone who promised payment previously and did not deliver within a week after promised. If you them to sue to get paid, I won't work for them more than once.
