A LACK of proper regulations got us into this mess.
This seems an unaccountably popular myth, in times of greater prosperity did we have stricter regulation? Didn't the housing bubble occur in the hands of government agencys like Freddy Mac and in cahoots of government personas like Barney Frank? The government  role in the recent colapse was negative and it would be hard to prove that some critical government policys  were not causal.
Quote
I hardly think that removing regulations at the demand of business only because business does not like them would be a disaster.
We may have the WRONG regulations in some cases, but there are few new regualtions, and those that there are did not cause a slump in the economy.

The Republicans are clueless about how to provide jobs for people. They do know how to help the top 1% to rip off an even bigger share of the wealth than they now have. The Teabaggers know that they are against everything and have no solutions to anything. They are simply useful idiots for the Oligarchy, that paid a lot to organize them.

I do not wish for Republican politicians to provide jobs for the nation, in general Republican politicians  have simular education and experience to Democrat Politicians who have demonstrated woefull ignorance of economic matters.
I wish for Republican politicians to accept a reduction in government involvement , if possible even a reduction in government size and expense.

Think about this ,government is for the purpose of regulation analogous to the computer that regulates the function of your modern car engine.
Would you buy a car that devoted twenty percent of its engine power aand fuel consumption to running its computer?

Sure, if the total amount of fuel used was less than another engine with the same power.

Well , that is kinda rediculous.
A real car needs less than one percent of its power to be devoted to governing  and regulating its speed and functions.
Why does a human being need up to half of his production be confiscated so that another human being can tell him what to do?
     Are engines that much smarter?

It is a hypothetical question, and that is a the correct answer.

An incandescent light bulb transforms far more of the energy it uses into heat rather than light. It is still better than a candle.

Being as no president in recent memory has ever shrunk the size of government, and only a very few have even managed to shrink the size of the military even in peacetime, It is highly improbable that we shall ever elect anyone who will shrink the government.
The time has come to drown Grover Norquist in his bathtub in a prime time ritual and be done with this crazy talk.
