Pray for our first black president
« on: October 09, 2011, 07:09:37 PM »
I pray Herman Cain will become our nations first truly black president.

Republican presidential contender Herman Cain amplified his criticism Sunday of the growing Occupy Wall Street movement, calling the protesters “jealous’ Americans who "play the victim card” and want to “take somebody else’s” Cadillac.

Cain’s remarks, on CBS’ "Face the Nation," came amidst an escalating war of words between Republicans and Democrats over the merits of the movement, which has spread from New York to other cities across the nation, including Washington and Los Angeles.

GOP politicians in recent days have stepped up their criticism of the protesters, with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) calling them "mobs" who have pitted “Americans against Americans.”

But Cain, surging in popularity among many conservatives, seems to have had among the most virulent responses to the protests.

On CBS, Cain suggested that the rallies had been organized by labor unions to serve as a “distraction so that many people won’t focus on the failed policies of the Obama administration.”

The banking and financial services industries aren’t responsible for those policies, Cain said. “To protest Wall Street and the bankers is basically saying you’re anti-capitalism,” he said.

Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, who appeared on the program with Cain, offered a more measured response, but blamed the White House for the discord.

“There a lot of people in America who are angry,” Gingrich said. “This is the natural product of President Obama’s class warfare.”

Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), chairman of the House Budget Committee, also pointed a finger at the president, whom he accused of fear-mongering.

"He's preying on the emotions of fear, envy and anger. And that is not constructive to unifying America," Ryan said. "I think he's broken his promise as a uniter, and now he's dividing people. And to me, that's very unproductive."

Ryan cited protests in his home state of Wisconsin this year over collective bargaining legisation when asked about the Wall Street movement. “I don’t disparage anyone who protests their government in favor of better government, no matter what perspective they come from,” he said.

Asked whether Cain’s criticism was representative of the party, Ryan said, “I think Herman’s speaking for himself.”

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco on ABC’s “This Week,” essentially called Cantor a hypocrite for criticizing the Wall Street protesters while embracing the “tea party” movement.

“I didn’t hear him say anything when the tea party was out demonstrating, actually spitting on members of Congress right here in the Capitol, and he and his colleagues were putting signs in the windows encouraging them,’ Pelosi said.

Pelosi said she supported the movement’s “message.”

“I support the message to the establishment, whether it's Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen,” she said “We cannot continue in a way that does not — that is not relevant to their lives. People are angry.”

No the spitting never happened nor was Lewis called a nigger as was claimed.

Unfortunately the GOP is being sucked into an us vs them situation that they need not be distracted by.

They need to focus on the economy and focus on moving towards a balanced budget.

I disagree, they (Pelosi & Ilk) can say what they like. We just keep doing our thing. Pelosi is a dumb bitch and everybody knows it.

Clinton ought to keep his title as the first black president.

Of course he didn't qualify as black by heritage , he was black by dint of fulfilling the steriotype so perfectly.

You don't think that the Obama winking, the Pelosi endorsing,  the miscellaneous Tea Party comparisons is an attempt to draw the GOP into this whole US Autumn thing?

OK now I better understand your point. It might be but from my standpoint I like hearing Cain say what he says.

You see, I don't think this is going to play well for Obama and the Democrat Party. Last week the protesters had signs backing Obama, this confirms to me that the Democrat Party has be ginning up these protests. Regular people, like me, see the connection between the scum protesters and Obama being a radical. They aren't like me. They are the polar opposite from me.

In the meantime Cain comes out with his rant and it makes me feel like hey this guy isn't afraid to take these people on. He isn't afraid of having an opinion that might lose a few Democrat voters that could have been looking his way. Here is a guy (Cain) that has the guts to say it like it is and not sugarcoat the message.

I say let's be different from them rascally Democrats. Let's support a guy that isn't the typical BS politician. I see that in Cain. It's been years since I have been as sold on a candidate like I am for Cain. And to think a Obama hating racist like me would actually change his stripes and support an African American for President.

I am convinced that others are feeling same as I and in going forward Cain will rise like cream to the top of the heap. I predict Mr. Cain is going to lead the polls in the next two weeks. The only way he losses ground is if the phony Romney & Perry hijack his message, style, and excitement. I seriously doubt they can because they lack the passion, and the fire in the belly, that Cain posses.

You'll be crowing support for Romney soon enough, when Cain says something truly dumb that even the Republicans can't stand.

Romney would be a better president than Obama times 100 and since I will never ever vote for Obama I will vote for anyone other than Obama including Romney. But between Romney and Cain I much prefer Cain.

Cain is Obama and the Dem Party's worst nightmare. How could the Republican Party elect a black man? This knocks down the house of cards that the R Party is a bunch of racists.

By the times the election takes place 30% of blacks will leave Obama and he will have a total of about 20% support.

Yeah, you are an expert on Black people. I bet you have even shaken hands with one or two of them.

Cain could probably get 20% of the total vote. Obama would beat him in the highly improbable case that he got the nomination. There would be one or more third parties if Cain were a candidate.

There is a safe bet, there are a dozen "third" partys of long standing, but which would benifit from a Cain vs Obama race?
