Islam is a religion that inspires VIOLENT OUTRAGE over the destruction of inanimate objects, such as a Quran,
and RELATIVE INDIFFERENCE toward the extermination of human beings in the name of allah.

President Obama apologizes about the burning of a few books that contain 109 verses of hate,
murder and terror against all human beings who are not muslim...

Meanwhile, muslims have committed 18,471 deadly terror attacks SINCE 9/11...
270 million murders in the 14 hundred year history of islam..

Where is the outrage over that, Mr. President?

Where are the apologies from the "peaceful muslims?" -JAN MORGAN

If you can prevent American troops from getting killed with an apology, then an apology makes good sense.

Publicizing the burning of Korans was really, really stupid. They could have disposed of then in many ways.

pretty sure all american presidents would do the exact samething. It`s the very reason you see no cartoon about allah in the united states. it`s simply not worth the price.

Gingrich criticizes Quran burning apology by US

By BRIAN BAKST
Associated Press

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday a U.S. apology to Afghan authorities for burned Qurans on a military base was "astonishing" and undeserved.

Gingrich lashed out at President Barack Obama for the formal apology after copies of the Muslim holy book were found burned in a garbage pit on a U.S. air field earlier in the week

Obama's apology was announced Thursday morning. A few hours later, news organizations reported that an Afghan soldier had killed two U.S. troops and wounded others in retaliation for the Quran burning.

Campaigning in Washington state, Gingrich said Afghan President Hamid Karzi owes the U.S. an apology for the shootings.

"There seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama's attention in a negative way and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States period," Gingrich said.

"And, candidly, if Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, doesn't feel like apologizing then we should say good bye and good luck, we don't need to be here risking our lives and wasting our money on somebody who doesn't care."

Even before Gingrich's comments, White House spokesman Jay Carney sought to counter any criticism of the president's apology.

"It is wholly appropriate, given the sensitivities to this issue, the understandable sensitivities," Carney told reporters traveling to Miami with the president on Air Force One. "His primary concern as commander in chief is the safety of the American men and women in Afghanistan, of our military and civilian personnel there. And it was absolutely the right thing to do."

Later Thursday, Gingrich continued his criticism of Obama's foreign policy during a rally in the town of Coeur d'Alene in northern Idaho, a stop in one of the 10 states that votes on March 6. He was spending Friday in Washington state, which holds caucuses a week from Saturday.

"This president has gone so far at appeasing radical Islamists that he is failing in his duty as commander in chief," Gingrich said

That doesn't mean he would not do the same if he was president. It's highly likely he would have a different tune if he was in charge. Unless you think the safety of americans is not worth it. Note newt never address this concern.

The Newtster is an asshole, plain and simple. He would be a total disaster as president. It's time for the SOB to retire.

Newt is right!

why is it we apologize over destroying a book
but there is no apology from them over killing two people?
why do we apologize for pissing on 3 dead guys that were trying to kill us
but they behead/murder innocent civilians, school children & respected journalist
and we dont hear a peep?
dont ya think something is out of whack here?
i certainly would not apologize to those animals
and if we are going to be pansies
then we need to cut off Afghanistan, Pakistan & Egypt....tell 'em to "F-OFF"
and use that money here

Whether you think getting all upset over the burning of the Koran is foolish or not the fact remains it's a hot button issue for muslims. I think it's foolish, just as I think getting bent out of shape over the burning of the American flag is foolish. But, when you have US troops in the situation they're in in Afghanistan it ain't too bright to give the general population any excesses to fly off the handle. It doesn't take a lot of grey matter to figure that out. Of course it takes even less grey matter to then comment on it the way Gingrich did. That's a perfect example of why that divisive moron should never be Commander in Chief.

well BSB with all due respect I think it's a hot button to see Muslims
in the name of their religion slaughtering people worldwide everyday.

Here is the very latest of Islam's Contributions to Peace while we fret over a burned book!

2012.02.24 (Peshawar, Pakistan) -
Fedayeen suicide bombers take out four people at a police station.

2012.02.23 (Enjani Kali, Pakistan) -
Taliban militants hit three houses with rockets, killing two residents. .

2012.02.23 (Balad Ruz, Iraq) -
Three family members are disassembled by an 'insurgent' bomb attack on their home.

2012.02.23 (Lapuyan, Philippines) -
Young children are among the casualties when Muslim militants
strafe a house with gunfire, killing six.

2012.02.23 (Musayyib, Iraq) -
Children are heavily represented among the casualties of an al-Qaeda
car bombing near an elementary school.

2012.02.23 (Mandali, Iraq) -
Two children are taken out by an al-Qaeda bomb at a soccer field.

The Muslims are fanatics over the destruction of the Koran.  Every one knows this.

It is as stupid to burn a Koran as to roll in bacon fat and walk into the bears' cave.

Very few American troops know enough about written Arabic script (used for all the languages of Afghanistan) to even tell what a book or letter is about. They could not tell the difference between Winnie the Pooh and the Koran in Pashtun, written in Arabic script.

The logical thing to do is to bury such stuff or ship it out of the area. To put it on a burn pile where it is visible to those who CAN read it was really, really stupid.

If a life can be saved by an apology, then an apology is clearly in order.

A hyper supersticious reverence for scripture doesn't really explain this behavior.

If they were confident n the omnipotence of God, then they could be sure that lightning would strike when the blasphemy reached Gods threshhold of tolerance.

I think they are dyeing for respect, when their culture , religion of nation is disrespected they are prone to take it personally, a sign more of insecurity and an inferiority complex.

We are riding rough on their feelings, we show up ignoorant of their customs and never bother to learn the language, we fight better we are better educated and wealthyer in every respect except respect for Islam.

They are in no mood to hear more about how we do things back home, but eager to demonstrate instead how their rightiousness actually makes them better.

    Borat isn't likly to help.
Even if he is right on the money , and he is mocking a type they all hate, they will feel included in the wrong end of the joke.

I know it's hard for those like Gingrich, Chenny, CU4, etc., who have never been in the military, to grasp how wars are fought. But since Obama, who never served either, has caught on, maybe there's hope.

So terrorism, insurgency, guerrilla warfare, and so forth, are all tactics. These tactics aren't generic to any particular time, place, or people, rather they are methods, previously praticed and articulated, sitting on the shelf, to be taken down and used when deemed appropriate. When you find yourself the target of one or more of these tactics you have to attempt to counter them with your own appropriate methods.

Now, burning the Koran, when facing a muslim foe, in a muslim country, that's using terrorism, insurgency, and guerilla forces taticly, wouldn't be an appropriate counter measure would it? That isn't too hard to grasp is it?
