The Idiocy of Racebaiting
« on: March 28, 2012, 03:35:56 PM »
You know, if Martin were a hispanic, yet wearing a hood, and looking suspiscious in the eyes of Zimmerman, Zimmerman would have likely done exactly the same thing.  If Martin were Asian, wearing a hood, and looking suspicious, Zimmerman would have likely done the same.  If Martin were caucasion, wearing a hood, and looking suspicious, the situation and events would likely have been identical

Yet because Martin was black, the moronic chorus of hate crime, of racism, of trying to "oppress and murder the black man" is again being pushed by the same idiots and lunatic leftists.  There's not 1 shred of history in Zimmerman's background that would even remotely cause someone to think he had a racist bone in his body.

But no, Zimmerman is to be referred to as a WHITE Hispanic, and Martin is to be referred to as a Black teenager, and......that's all that's needed for the garbage that messers JJ, Maxine Waters, the NBP, Sharpton, and company, to spew their racebaiting.

Did you ever notice that when comments are made by the right, rarely if ever, is the color of one's skin referenced.  Yet, with the left, it's part of the methodology.  Remember the dumb joke DeNiro pulled, referencing white 1st ladies, as our 1st white female presidents, that the country isn't apparently ready for??  Perfect example.  You never hear the right bring up race, when they're criticizing Obama, or the 1st lady.  Yet, the left apparently "sees the code words", which apparently gives them carte blanche clearance to perpuate the racebaiting, and look at people, not at who they are, but by their skin color.

And then there's the MSM just lapping it up, never once questioning the left's idiotic racebaiting, and most often questioning the right as to why do we still have racial animosity, inferring that they're the reason

"White Hispanic." That's how the New York Times, Reuters and other media outlets have opted to describe George Zimmerman, a man who would simply be Hispanic if he hadn't shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The term, rarely if ever used before this tragedy, is necessary in telling the Martin story in a more comfortable way.

What's the comfortable way? It's the way the blame for Martin's death belongs squarely at the feet of "the system." And "the system" is a white thing, don't you know.

For instance, in a remarkably uncritical interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Rev. Jesse Jackson explained that with the election of President Obama, "there was this feeling that we were kind of beyond racism." He continued: "That's not true. His victory has triggered tremendous backlash." Indeed, "Blacks are under attack."

Jackson apparently includes in this racist Obama "backlash" record home foreclosures for African Americans and black unemployment. It would have been nice if the L.A. Times had asked Jackson to work a little harder to connect those dots.

Jackson also laments that "targeting, arresting, convicting blacks and ultimately killing us is big business" in America.

On the saner end of the liberal spectrum, Reniqua Allen of the New America Foundation writes in the Washington Post that it's harder to talk about race now that we have a black president (note: not a "white African American president," a la the new Zimmerman standard, although both men have a white parent).

Allen is surely right that having a black president makes it hard to talk about race, particularly if you want to have the hackneyed monologue that hustlers such as Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton want to have. Weak-tea Marxist rants about a system that parasitically feeds off black men sound absurdly antiquated when that system is run, at the top, by black men (Eric Holder, let's not forget, runs the Justice Department).

But the aging race industry that continues to see the world through a half-century-old prism of Jim Crow, and still wants you to see it that way, too, is determined to bum-rush Zimmerman into his assigned role, heedless of facts or the lack of them.

Meanwhile, Obama, who promised a new conversation on race, seems happier in an election year to lend heft to the old one. He called for soul-searching -- but absent a full set of facts, why does this homicide of all U.S. homicides require it? Obama's comments mostly seem aimed at adding credence to liberal conventional wisdom.

Zimmerman may well deserve to go to jail. Or this may just be a confluence of horrible mistakes with no criminal intent whatsoever. That's what a Justice Department probe and a Florida grand jury will determine. But for the forces demanding action, that isn't good enough. Jackson, as is his wont, threatens there will be "no peace" until Zimmerman is arrested.

Others are not so patient. The New Black Panther Party has put a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman's head. "He should be fearful for his life," leader Mikhail Muhammad said. "You can't keep killing black children." Spike Lee joined the digital lynch mob and tweeted Zimmerman's home address.

Yes, absolutely, there are pockets of racism in America. But among the myriad problems with a "blame the system" narrative is that it obscures and often silences far greater problems than white-on-black racist violence.

Martin's tragic death is a statistical outlier. More whites are killed by blacks than blacks killed by whites (or "white Hispanics"). And far, far more blacks are killed by other blacks. Indeed, if we're going to use the prism of race to analyze murder rates, then the real epidemic is that of black murderers. Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute notes that recent data show black males age 14 to 24 commit homicides at a rate nearly 10 times higher than that of young white and Latino males combined. Surely that's worthy of some soul-searching, too.

And yet, New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow says "the burden of black boys in America" is fear of racist assaults. MSNBC has handed over vast swaths of airtime to its in-house huckster, Sharpton.

No doubt, white -- and "white Hispanic" -- prejudice is a problem for young black men, but the notion that it is the singular or chief "burden of black boys in America" is nonsense.

Alas, the very people begging for an honest conversation on race will likely accuse you of racism for saying so.

then why don't they refer to Obama as "White/African American"?

Because he is a black caucasian.

different from Tiger Woods who is a caublasian.

If Hispanic is white now , isn't this potentially a positive development?

Heard on Fox news "If he were recieving a Nobel prize for Medicine would he be a White Hispanic?"

the talks here are not offensive to me. but when I hear blacks talk about this very subject it`s pretty damn offensive. pretty much it ends by saying thier white. Note at the start of the incident zimmerman was called white.
it may not be defined as racism, but it sure is bigotted.

It all comes from some incessant need to pigeonhole people.

Me I'm German Irish, mostly Irish and i think henceforth that is what i must be referred to, especially if set asides and giveaways are attached to my subgroup. Lord knows my people have suffered long enough.

People named "Zimmerman" are normally not Hispanic. I am sure that you will find half a page of Zimmermans in the Buenos Aires phone boon, though. Zimmerman's father is apparently White, his mother is Peruvian. All Peruvians are Hispanic, just as ex-President and present convict Fujimora is Hispanic, but Peruvians, especially from Lima, can be of a variety of racial types, as well as mixed. There are a lot of Spaniards in Peru that have never mixed with the Indians, Blacks or, Asians legitimately. Peploe from Galicia in NW Spain are largely Celtic.

Everyone's people have suffered long enough, by the way. The Irish, Jews and Poles are best at expressing this, it would seem, but Blacks are catching up with them.

Zimmerman means someone who rents zimmern, or rooms: an innskeeper, or in India, a Patel.
It is a fairly common German name

The media's selective outrage
Black-on-black crime, like black-on-white crime, doesn't fit liberal narrative

“Blacks are under attack,” said the Rev. Jesse Jackson, irresponsibly turning the Florida shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, Trayvon Martin, at the hands of Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman into a barometer of black-white “race-relations.”

President Barack Obama, three years past his inauguration as American’s first black president, weighed in, too. As when he accused the Cambridge police of “acting stupidly,” Obama injected race, but this time a little less directly: “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”
The implication, of course, is that race undoubtedly played a role in the death of Trayvon Martin. A special prosecutor as well as a Florida grand jury will examine the case, re-interview all the witnesses and go over all the evidence. Zimmerman may well be charged with murder, and a racially motivated one at that. Or the prosecutor may find the evidence insufficient to convince a jury that Zimmerman did not act in self-defense.

No matter whether Zimmerman is charged or convicted, a tragedy occurred. But is Jesse Jackson right, that the death of Trayvon Martin suggests “blacks are under attack,” presumably by racist non-blacks?

True, black men, especially young ones, stand a much greater chance of being murdered than white males. But almost all murders involve a victim and a killer of the same race. Yes, instances of black-white murder – as, for example, when James Byrd, a black man of Jasper, Texas, was dragged to his death by three white men – do exist.

But nationally, according to the Department of Justice;
- 53 percent of known homicide suspects in 2010 were identified as black – although blacks comprise only 13 percent of the population.
- And in murders involving a single black victim and a single offender, 90 percent of the time it is a black perpetrator who murders the black victim.
- Similarly, 83 percent of whites are murdered by other whites.

What happened in Sanford, Fla. – a white person killing a black person – is extremely infrequent, occurring in 8 percent of black homicides. In saying “blacks are under attack,” Jackson paints a picture of whites targeting and hunting down black males.

Look at the 2010 stats for New York City. While blacks comprise about 25 percent of the city’s population, blacks accounted for two-thirds of murder victims. For black homicide suspects arrested, 85 percent of their victims were also black.

The leading causes of death for all young men ages 15 to 29, according to a 2006 Kaiser Family Foundation study, regardless of race or ethnicity, are unintentional injury (e.g., car accident, firearm or drowning), suicide and homicide. Not for young black men. The No. 1 cause of death in this demographic is murder. The homicide death rate for young (ages 15 to 24) African-American men (85 per 100,000 persons) is three times the rate for young Hispanic men (30 per 100,000 population), the population group with the next highest homicide mortality rate. The rates for young Asian and young white males are 9.8 and 5 per 100,000, respectively.

In one recent Chicago weekend, 49 people were shot, 10 fatally, including a 6-year-old black girl. Did President Obama issue a statement? Black-on-black crime, like black-on-white crime, does not fit the liberal media’s narrative of the continuing problem of white racism.

How selective is the outrage about interracial crime – when the bad guy is black?

Ken Tillery, in 2002, walked down a Jasper, Texas, road. Three men offered him a ride. But the men kidnapped Tillery, driving him to a remote location. John Perazzo of FrontPageMagazine.com describes what happened: “When the terrified Tillery jumped out of the vehicle and tried to flee, the kidnappers caught up with him, beat him and finally ran over him – dragging him to his death beneath their car’s undercarriage.”

Same town, a few years after the James Byrd murder, a black-white murder in the same fashion – by dragging a man to his death – but no story! Why? Well, Tillery was white, and the three suspects were all black. The irony alone would, one would think, guarantee lots of coverage. But how much coverage did the case get? An online search of 557 newspapers found that 22 covered the story.

In a scene from “Menace II Society,” a movie about the struggles of inner-city black youth, a tough black high school teacher advises two black male students: “Being a black man in American isn’t easy. The hunt is on – and you’re the prey.” We hear a police siren in the background as the teacher gives his admonition – just in case the identity of the hunter is unclear.

But reality tells a very different story, one that even Jesse Jackson once acknowledged.

In 1994, in an unguarded moment while discussing urban crime, Jackson told an interviewer he’s relieved when the footsteps on the street behind him belong to white – rather than black – feet.

Just imagine the outrage (rightfully so) if some white "preacher" was advocating an incease to "disobeidence" if some black gentleman wasn't arrested for some crime the police investigating didn't feel compelled to arrest him for, nor a DA's office indicating they had enough to go to trial with for any kind of conviction

Al Sharpton: Civil disobedience will escalate if Zimmerman remains free
By Arelis R. Hernández, Orlando Sentinel

If George Zimmerman is not arrested in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin soon, the Rev. Al Sharpton will call for an escalation in peaceful civil disobedience and economic sanctions.

Sharpton would not say the efforts would be taken against the city of Sanford specifically, but he has been critical of the police department's handling of the case.

Yet not a peep of MSM condemnation or public outcry
