Is there such a thing as unforcible rape?
« on: May 02, 2012, 02:10:50 PM »
According to DWS, her latest rant is the notion that Republicans want to redefine rape.......as only being forcible rape.  Is there any other?

Who is DWS and why do we care what she has to say?

Didn't realize there was one, outside of informing folks the state of the Democrats' latest hyperbolic attack, not to mention get a listing of what rapes aren't forcible

  Just useing my imagination....

... suppose someone recieved sex as a result of fraud?

Promise unkept, does the lovemaking become rape retroactively?

I don't really know, what does DWS have in mind?

We seem to be missing context. When did she say that Republicans ...?

What is the current definition according to law?

How do republicans plan to change that definition.

Why?

Per an apparent Conference call:

I think the agenda of the Republican Party and of Mitt Romney has clearly been--and can be interpreted as--an attack on the issues that matter to women.  From the very beginning of this Congress, the first priorities in the first bills the Republicans introduced repealing the Affordable Care Act which would dramatically impact women in a negative way [by] making sure that insurance companies could drop us or deny us coverage for preexisting conditions, making sure that we could once again be charged more simply because of our gender for insurance coverage, making sure that we would redefine rape as only being forcible rape--that was H.R. 3.” .....DWS

You'd have to ask DWS on exactly what GOP plan is in redefining rape.  She appears to have left that point purposely vague

So what's the endgame?

the endgame is obviously to talk about dogs on car roofs, ridiculous rape issues,
birth control, anything to shift the focus while the country's economy is going in
the crapper and gas prices are sky-high!
