Apple has brick and mortar stores ,not to make a Profit but to ensure the customers will use thier products.
Exactly.....Apple brick/mortar is to a very targeted market and somewhat tech support centered.
It would be interesting to see the numbers on what % of Apple total sales are generated at their stores.
There will always be brick/mortar storefronts....
just less & less across many industries that were 100% brick/mortar in the past.
record stores?...basically already gone...a few will survive as a novelty
i would say in 25 years there wont really be a US Postal Service
at least anything like the one that exists today.....
it would already be gone if it wasnt supported by a gvt printing press printing fiat money
whatever is still snail-mailed in 25 years will be mostly done by private companies like FedEx & UPS
newpapers will also mostly be gone in 25 years....some will survive as a novelty.
i dont see how newspapers even stay in business today
i got my renew recently and a one year subscription to my local newspaper was around $400!
the internet has devastated travel agency storefronts.....they are already practically gone.
But Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz probably already employ more people than the travel agents did.
The guys that worked at Best Buy now work at AT&T Phone Stores....ect
It's always about change, change, change....but there will be jobs no matter what scare tactics XO employs!
