If true....BRILLIANT PICK....Ryan as VP running mate
« on: August 11, 2012, 04:07:10 AM »
If true, my respect meter for Romney just went up 3 fold.  If true, the GOP needs to get their gears in order and make it crystal clear that Ryan's budget reforms, which are no where near near enough, are both a valid starting point at returning this country to some fiscal sanity, and that they do not affect anyone over the age of 55.  Period

Could have gone with a political swing state pick....Could have gone with an ethnic/racial pick....nope, if true, he went with the policy pick.  A fella that can articulate, to all ages and ethnicities, very clearly the economic & financial abyss that Obama is driving us into.  And oh good gravy, is he going to out debate Biden, .....in SPADES

Nice job, Mitt

Could have gone with a political swing state pick....Nice job, Mitt

SIRS...I agree with everything you said, but isn't Wisconsin an important "swing state"?
Paul Ryan is a very good pick for Mitt Romney for a whole lot of reasons.
Paul Ryan will energize a sector of the Republican base that is/was leery of Romney.
From Sarah Palin to Mitch McConnell....most of the party will be happy with this choice.
Paul Ryan has a good balance of youth, experience, and policy wonk.
Even-though Paul Ryan has been in Washington over ten years, he has the feel of an outsider.

A rerun of the triumphant Dole/Kemp ticket. Two fatuous White guys.

If they were cartoons, they would be a meerkat and a weasel.

Kemp was this genius that would have mass appeal.

Announcing this on an ancient battleship signifies that the Oligarchy's policy of Perpetual War is to be maintained.

Where did you hear this?

Being reported as expected on the news last night, and "hints" of it on Drudge report

I suppose it could be.  Not as big as Florida, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania, IMHO

So you deny that Romney and Ryan are White guys?

They are obviously fatuous.

Ryan is clearly a weasel.

He has "the feel of an outsider". After ten years?

He orders his staff to read "Atlas Shrugged" That is not "the feel of an outsider" that is just insane, not to mention sadistic.

"Atlas Shrugged, Part 2"  (there are three parts in all, they say) is scheduled to be released in October. Will it be as silly as the first part ?
'How is a cinematographer going to make John Galt's 70 page speech hold anyone's attention?

Will the secrets of miraculous blue Reardon Metal or Galt's engine that runs on atmospheric static electricity be divulged?

If such an engine existed, I wager that Exxon Mobil would buy it and destroy it or simply shoot Galt.

He gave a good speech today, I like what he said.

I hope that hireing an economic policy expert helps keep the state of the economy in focus, without a good economy there won't be any successfull government programs.

Ryan has a BA in Economics. An expert, he is not. No college would allow him to teach Econ 101.

He probably does know more than the average Congressman and many times more than any bagger, but that is because congressmen are abysmally ignorant of economics.

There is not much chance that these clowns will be elected.

The Chairman of the US House Budget Committee will run circles around Obama & plagiarizing Joe Biden!

Ryan will do. Though i would have preferred he remain in the house to guide his budget through both houses.

The dems are going negative already because that is all they have.

Probably Rick Perry of those semi left standing. And yeah i know he had trouble putting together sentences during the debate, but that is no longer a qualification as of Biden.  But that isn't what he brings to the table. He brings fierce determination to cut back the federal Goliath and return power to the states as the founders intended.

What does their race have to do with anything??

It's just my perception, but I sense Ryan has a similar agenda
