When you're talking about a former SEAL who is on an Ambassador's security team, that's in a hot spot, you're talking about people who have a lot more going than just being SEAL trained. These are guys who have tons of experience. Team 6 is called "the old mans club" because you can't be a young man and have enough experience to do what they do.

I doubt very seriously that Plane was arguing in the quality of the 2 guys assigned to help protect an Ambassador.        I think the point was that even the 2 greatest trained and experienced SEALS can be overwhelmed by sheer #'s

The fact is that no embassy or consulate of any country can withstand a large enough mob. The US Embassy, the Russian Embassy, and the French Embassy in Quito are very well protected, with razor wire and God knows what else. Ecuador is not a particularly violent country, either. But if the locals have a large enough mob for a long enough time, only the local government can protect it.

As I recall, he not only got advance warning, at least 48hrs in advance, not only didn't warn anyone or even beef up security ANYWHERE, he spend a mere 1 hour talking about it afterwards, before heading off for big bucks in Vegas.  Too bad what goes to Vegas, doesn't stay in Vegas
