If there were fewer guns, there would be fewer gun deaths. How hard is that to understand?

Because it is not true in any way at all.....So if you reduce guns via laws will the law abideing or the lawless be disarmed first?

Ouch!!

No one is disarming anyone, nor is anyone going to give guns away to the general public.

There are too many guns in circulation to make confiscation doable. I just said that if LaPierre wants every school to have a guard provided by the Feds, he and his fellow gun nuts should pay for it.

I don't have any small children, but I do have grandchildren.

I might not buy another gun for a cupple of years , the ones I really want are pretty expensive.

I have already the guns to basicly cover all likely needs , hunting and defense, and I don't shoot up a really large amount of ammo , I have been too busy in recent years.
So I wouldn't contribute much......

But what about the CC permit?

Georgia takes a $75 toll every five years for a concieled carry permit, this could be hiring a lot of guards if it were devoted to that purpose .

For me it would have less moral objection than buying lotto tickets .

People without guns might buy CC permits if they were assured that the money was put to good use, that is why some non hunters buy duck stamps.

By the way , if you ever drive off an attack or shoot an attacker , are you required to show him your permit first?

Hey, I kinda like that idea.......an added fee to those applying for a CCW, which is then earmarked for hiring armed guards at public schools.  Suppliment it with hiring a few less vice-assistant principal-like administrators, per school, and you have a working budget to go on

Law abiding citizens who own guns ARE the good guys.
