Require background checks for all gun sales
Three ways this does not work.1) Lots of guns are already sold and the black market guns will always be plentyfull. 2) Gun owners are highly suspicious of this measure as a precursor to confiscation.3) The measure has no preventative quality, if you find a gun after a crime you can tell where it was before the crime , but this doesn't prevent the crime very well.
Strengthen the background check system for gun sales.
Yes , alright make it so , but the effectiveness of the whole idea is hard to prove. How many people who were turned down on the basis of background check remained unarmed the rest of their lives?
Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons
Really , did ten years of a useless assault wepons ban teach us nothing at all? There is absolutely no evidence that the ban prevented a single injury.
Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds
Will we also pronounce edict that crimes shall not be comitted with more than one loaded gun? Will we limit the number of 10 round magazines that a person can carry? This is a nusance to the honest , if a criminal wants a banana he will steal one or steal enough to buy a black market banana, then he can fire 20 rounds two seconds faster than the guys with 10 round magazines.
Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets.
Absolute piffle, how many times have the forbidden bullets been used to peirce armor in comission of crime? Both before and after the headlines about what a threat they were? This is simple ignorance , almost every rifle round that is leagal for hunting deer will penetrate the armor that most Police wear. Who ever did buy these bullets?
Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime

End the freeze on gun violence research
No, the CDC should be devoted to disease , not politics, lets defeat Malaria which kills an order of magnitude more people than guns and not waste the time and money beating the dead horse , there is plenty of that already.
Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans, and more nurturing school climates
Yes, well trained phisicily fit ones , with riot shotguns. At last one that is agreeable.
