There are dozens of examples where someone gave him a fat donation and got his support.

Whatever the translation. this is NOT any remotely common expression in Spanish. I have, in fact NEVER seen it in any article written in Spanish.

Spanish tends to focus more on justice being the end, and not on the means of achieving it.
