The premice...that abysmal education results are due to rich white racists.  Couldn't possibly be the heavy handed liberal curriculum, and/or the lack of options to parents of kids in poor neighborhoods

Lately i've been hearing on my various pod cast about the issue of public schools and every other forms of education.

The one issue that's not been address because even I'm not sure i can even probly put this point across here myself. Is the complicated fact that makes public schools different than others form of education.

Public schools (ps) cannot deny students  to thier schools, (ps) can only teach curriculum that can be decided by the local community. Charter school students are likely to have parents actively in the edtcation of the student due to the s imple fact they choose the school thier childs school. Mainly (ps) will be the first to lose various types of course due to budget cuts that private schools use as a selling point for thier recruitment. My point is public schools has alot of restrictions and limitscompared to other schools. The very theme of a charter schools is they don't answer to many government regulation but  never brought up the all these other schools have the power to reject your child. The real downside to (ps) is they cannot turn your child away.

Meaning expulsion can answer alot of problems to schools. But it also means alot of kids will be even less educated then they are now.

Doesnt look like it but this covers the main topic. Meaning the deniel that posdibly the parent of these student are not very involved with thier kids education. Since racial lones are drawn then maybey certain racial groups posdibly are not as involved with thier childrens homework at night

I was there and listened to LBJ during his entire presidency. NOT ONCE did I hear him use the word "nigger" NOT ONCE. He had a strong Texas accent and said "nigras", as did everyone, Black and White alike, in Texas in those days.

Sirs is dedicated to the spread of hate and stupidity, as ever.

Charter schools in Miami are allowed to expel students permanently. They are allowed to exclude students with special needs, both physical and mental.

Parents who have few years of inferior education often do not insist that their kids study. They are not the only ones, of course. A large percentage of Black people in Chicago have migrated there from the poorest and least educated parts of the country: notably, rural Mississippi. Education for Balck people was pretty awful throughout the South, but Mississippi and Louisiana, especially the rural parts, have the worst schools for Blacks and Whites alike.

parents who do not insist on their kids study is not a racial issue but a social issue meaning america itself is a fairly anti-education place. I know several people who for one reason or another let theirs kids no graduate. the media does not show that quite alot of people are just fine if that kids only learn just enough to read or skip the bulk of courses like history ,eng.lit. etc., notice the very small outrage courses being cut due to budget cuts.

There would have been no voter rights act passed if not for  LBJ. And NO, it sure as hell was not any Republican initiative, either.

He did not use the word as an insult, and it was not considered an insult at that time unless used in anger. Note that Mark Twain's novel Huckleberry Finn has a major character named "Nigger Jim".

Of course to right wing morons, Al Sharpton invented racism with his pal Jesse Jackson.

There would have been no voter rights act passed if not for  LBJ.

A higher percentage of Republicans voted for the Voter Rights Act than did Democrats.

And the 1964 Civil Rights Act chief opponents were Democrat Senators Sam Ervin, of later Watergate fame, Albert Gore Sr., and Robert Byrd. Senator Byrd, a former Klansman whom Democrats still call "the conscience of the Senate", filibustered against the civil rights bill for fourteen straight hours before the final vote. The House of Representatives passed the bill by 289 to 126, a vote in which 79% of Republicans and 63% of Democrats voted yes. The Senate vote was 73 to 27, with 21 Democrats and only 6 Republicans voting no. President Johnson signed the new Civil Rights Act into law on July 2, 1964.

Again, it would never have passed without LBJ.

The Republican Party today would not approve it. In fact, many want to repeal it.

There is no "ouch". LBJ got the Voting Rights Act Passed. Why can't you admit one simple fact?
