Just wrong Mr. President
« on: April 30, 2014, 06:13:28 PM »
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/obama-criticizes-republicans-blocking-minimum-wage-increase-n93986

How does a rise in the minimum wage help anyone in the middle class?

How can a reduction in employment as a result be avoided?

Employment is already weak, this is a real mistake , but I do not expect the president to thank the Republicans for pulling us off this edge.

The President shows shallow understanding of the Second Amendment.

Urges more trust in the establishment.

You mean he understands the art of perpetuating polarizing politics, playing the race card, pitting groups against one another for short term political gain, and bald face lying in order to push liberal agendas, better than anyone else, be it minimum wage repercussions to the economy, insulating his incompotence in foreign & domestic policy decisions, or the meaning of the 2nd amendment?   Yea, you'd be right there

You would join him in encouraging absolute trust in the establishment?

...and what if that "establishment" all had (R's) after their name.  Surely we couild all be 100% trust in that scenario......right?

I think this will happen , sooner or later the "can't fool all the people all the time " principal will catch up with the party in power.

That seems to be the reason for the rotation every few presidents, since Wilson, how many times have we had three presidents of the same party in a row?

But the question remains....would staunch liberals be so eager to fully "trust the establishment" when at all levels, an (R) follows the name of the person(s) in charge.  Yet that's what their pushing for...a scenario where Republicans run everything, and they just need to trust them, that they're doing the right thing for them & the country

Neither party should get so powerful that they do not fear , fear is good for their honesty/corruption ratio.

I mistrust the Democrats a bit, I mistrust the Republicans a lot.

The Democrats I generally agree with on the ideology, but they tend to be lax in implementing it.

The Republicans currently have several stupid elements in their ideology: "Government is the problem", "The government has never done anything  well and will never do anything well", and "This (fill in the blank of some foreign leader) cannot be allowed to get away with this." Currently it is Putin. I think letting him annex half the Ukraine is pretty much something we will have to tolerate. It is not worth Americans dying over. To some Republicans, we must rattle sabers constantly and then of course, we have to act, lest they think we are weak. And they have never seen a weapon that was too expensive or insufficiently numerous.

That perception, as opinionated as it is, misses the broader point....that the push is being made for an ever expanding controlling government...like that's a good thing, just trust it.  And yet, what happens when the GOP is helming all that control over your life??  Going to be as "trusting" towards the establishment Government put in place by your party?  Or are you going to be hollering at what the GOP is doing, and how they're abusing their power to impliment THEIR agenda, which could have only been accomplished by your party's current precedent?
