The IRS probably has a better idea of wealth distribution.
After reading this I think several things opposite the author and one thing in agreement.
1)The wealthy of the US holding a very large share of the Earths wealth is not bad news. This is an American "Soft Power" the upshot being that all the world works to benefit the US and the US government is increased in strength.
2)Differentials in taxing already has become unfair to earners and distributes too much wealth unearned already, this is ineffective at all of its stated goals and will remain so.
3)Wealth inequality does not cause any problems , at least no problem worse then the forcing of wealth equality would cause.
4) A Raise in the minimum wage will have tiny effect on wealth distribution , if the final result is greater unemployment the effect will be negative in total.
But , people often do not respond to surveys at all and occasionally respond with untruth, the information is corrupted and biased in a way that is hard to measure.
