44% is a greater figure than that of those who regularly attend church every week, I believe.

I could get behind a measure to restrict Atheists and Agnostics from access to guns.

Yeah, like that would be constitutional.

Does it need to be ?

Was the constitution intended to protect unpopular people and minority opinions?

I will let you figure that out for yourself.

Agnosticism and Atheism are unrelated to gun violence.

Trust is related to gun violence.

If any class of person were chosen as untrustworthy to have guns , couldn't this reduce the total number of guns in circulation?

We could certainly start with classes of people that no one loves , atheists and mortgage bankers for example.

I do not think that people find atheists particularly unlovable. Most atheists in the US do not actively announce that they are atheists, because it gets the Christians all in a knot.  I do not find televangelists to be lovable.

Being lovable or unlovable is not the issue with regard to gun control. It is the likelihood that a person with a gun to shoot someone with it. That is unrelated to their faith or lack of faith.

And statistically speaking permit holders who legally carry concealed, are extremely law-abiding.  In other words, individuals employing the “more guns more crime” logic are using shoddy research as the basis for their claim.  Less than 1% of CCW holders have their permits revoked, due to some crime, including misdemeanors.  And that's a pool of of over 11 MILLION people who are legally able to carry a firearm

I guess it is nice to have a few around , Christians need to practice tolerance , you never get good at it unless you get some practice.

How about no guns for the left handed or red headed?

Fairness not being the point , just more people refused ownership of arms for any possible reason.
