TOP LIB: "I'D LAY MONEY ON RAND PAUL BEING THE NEXT PRESIDENT"

Kentucky Senator a "voice of reason" on ISIS in comparison to Hillary Clinton

by PAUL JOSEPH WATSON

SEPTEMBER 16, 2014

Liberal host Cenk Uygur says he would bet money on Rand Paul becoming the next President of the United States,
remarking that the Kentucky Senator's accurate take on ISIS and U.S. involvement in the middle east is going to
be crucial when contrasted with Hillary Clinton's efforts to beat the war drums.

Former MSNBC host Uygur, who left the network after being told he was too combative towards "those in power," is host of the Young Turks, a liberal-leaning YouTube channel that has received over 2 billion views.

Noting that Paul was a "voice of reason" on the issue of ISIS, Uygur said that the Kentucky Senator's opposition to bombing Syria, arming so-called moderate rebels and intervening in the region stood in stark contrast to Hillary Clinton "beating the war drums" in line with establishment Republicans.

During an appearance on CBS' This Morning yesterday, Paul noted that the rebels Obama plans to arm just signed a non-aggression pact with ISIS. As we documented, FSA militants have also defected to, fought alongside and handed weapons to ISIS in numerous different instances.

Underscoring that the bombing of Iraq and subsequent interventions in the middle east led to the rise of ISIS, Uygur slammed Clinton's foreign policy as, "let's keep doing the same stupid shit that we were doing before that you hated before campaign," while predicting that Paul would beat Clinton in a presidential run off.

Asserting that he had "never lost a single political bet" in his life, Uygur stated, "right now I'd lay money on Rand Paul being the next President of the United States, not because he's gonna be, not because you should mark it down, but because you would get great odds and the reality is he now stands I think about a 25 per cent of winning the whole enchilada because by the time we have the 2016 election the mess in the middle east will be much worse, our bombing will not have worked and we will have unleashed even more hell and more trouble."

Hillary Clinton has repeatedly floated the erroneous talking point, one echoed by RINO Republicans, that Obama's failure to arm the Syrian rebels during the first phase of the uprising was what led to the emergence of ISIS.

In reality, ISIS grew in strength as a result of being bankrolled and armed by America's closest allies in the region, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Jordan, countries which all vehemently supported FSA rebel militants from the very beginning of the Syrian conflict.

In addition, many of the weapons that were sent to FSA rebels were also seized by ISIS fighters. In July it emerged that "several factions within the FSA, including Ahl Al Athar, Ibin al-Qa'im" had "handed over its weapons to the Islamic State in large numbers" and pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Islamic State fighter Abu Atheer also told Al-Jazeera, "We are buying weapons from the FSA. we bought 200 anti-aircraft missiles and Koncourse anti tank weapons. We have good relations with our brothers in the FSA. For us, the infidels are those who cooperate with the West to fight Islam."

Cenk Uygar is a "top liberal"? Really?

no Uygar is just an average joe....lol

The Young Turks
Uygur created the talk show The Young Turks with the goal of starting a moderate liberal political and entertainment show. It launched on 13 February 2002. It later became a success online, and aired on the Sirius Satellite Radio network. The Young Turks claims to be the first Internet video news show and states that it is now the largest online news show in the world. Collectively it has amassed over 1,000,000,000 (a billion) views on YouTube, and over 1,000,000 subscribers. Video of the show is streamed daily on its website and is available as a podcast.

On September 20, 2011, Current TV announced that The Young Turks would launch a weeknight TV edition of the show at 7 p.m. EST (M-F) on the network beginning sometime in the fourth quarter of 2011. According to the show's website, the show was introduced as The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur to differentiate itself from the popular web series.[citation needed]. The show on Current TV ended on August 15, 2013 with the end of all live programing on Current.

MSNBC
On October 21, 2010 MSNBC announced that Uygur had been officially hired as a contributor and substitute anchor for the network. On January 21, 2011, it was announced that Uygur would be hosting the 6 p.m. Eastern slot on MSNBC as the anchor of a new prime time edition of MSNBC Live, after the network parted ways with Keith Olbermann, resulting in a rearrangement of the timeslots of MSNBC's other prime time shows. Uygur filled the time slot vacated by Ed Schultz, from late January through June 2011, earning first among people 18?34 in the second quarter. His contract was ended when he did not accept a lower profile weekend slot. An MSNBC spokesperson expressed regret at Uygur's leaving.

Uygur gave his side of the story on Democracy Now!, saying that MSNBC President Phil Griffin had called him into his office in April and told him that he had been talking to people in Washington and that they did not like Uygur's tone. MSNBC denied the claim, saying that "We did have numerous conversations with Cenk about his style, not substance."

Radio and television appearances
Uygur has appeared on numerous occasions on MSNBC, CNN Headline News, E! Entertainment Television, Al Jazeera English, RT, ABC News, Voice of America, NPR and the Fox News Channel. He was a regular guest on The Dylan Ratigan Show for a segment opposite various conservative commentators. On several occasions, Uygur filled in for the MSNBC shows of Ratigan, Ed Schultz, and Keith Olbermann, both before and after becoming a regular paid contributor to MSNBC in October 2010.

Jon Stewart showed clips of Uygur on Comedy Central's The Daily Show in August and September 2010; in one instance Uygur spoke on internet neutrality, and in the other, he commented on pastor Terry Jones and his Koran burning controversy. On December 22, 2010 Uygur interviewed Wikileaks founder Julian Assange on MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show. He appeared on George Galloway's political radio show on February 11, 2011 as an American correspondent, explaining problems he perceives with American politics for a British audience. He hosted Good Day L.A. in March 2012.

Wolf-PAC
In late 2011, after seeing the momentum of Occupy Wall Street, Uygur decided to launch a long term project of his, a political action committee named Wolf-PAC. Wolf-PAC aims to lobby state legislators to pass resolutions calling for an Convention of the States under Article V of the US Constitution. Its slogan is "A super-PAC to end all super-PACs". If this convention is formed the aim is then to pass an amendment to the United States Constitution that would end corporate person-hood and publicly finance all elections in the United States.

Rand Paul will not be getting the GOP nomination.

Senator Paul may or may not get the nod.....hard to tell at this point
At this juncture I prefer a Rubio/Romney which would be a winning ticket.
Rubio/Romney would be a balanced ticket with North/South covered & youth/experience covered.

Rubio is not very bright and has no guts. Observe how the GOP gave him the task of coming up with an immigration bill. He did as they asked, and then they shot him down, and he quietly skulked away without a squeak. He did not try to defend his bill, which was certainly better than no bill at all. The GOP does not like Hispanics, except as pliant yes men. Did you notice what happened to poor Mel Martinez, Florida's first Cuban Senator? He was made Chairman of the Party (a token appointment, obviously) then given the chore of dealing with immigration, which he did. The Party then booted him out of the Chairmanship, and forced him to resign.

Romney does not want to be VP, I am sure, and he has been rejected once. He spilled the beans with his stupid 47% remark. Now oit is more than 47%.

Has anyone of either party that lost as a presidential candidate ever accepted the nomination as VP?
Politics does not work that way.

Rubio is very bright, very polished, well spoken, young, and likeable.
Marco Rubio could very well be the next President of the United States.

Romney would make an excellent Vice President and probably
be much more involved like Vice President Cheney was...
as opposed to "crazy uncle Joe" we now have as a joke VP.

Never gonna happen.

Rubio is a schmuck.

Romney is not going to settle for VP. He is certainly better qualified than Rubio, whoi has no experience in anything except Florida politics, which consists mostly of sucking up to land developers.
