You realize how pretty much any criticism is going to be ignoring the point being made, and focus on the "token black" that the GOP is "using"

Not ONE WORD about who she is running against.

You cannot actually vote against anyone in reality, you have to vote FOR someone.

Negative ads SUCK and this is nothing but a negative ad.

She seems to be running against TWO Republicans and a Libertarian  All of them White.
If the Republican Party of Louisiana actually cared for Black people, would be asking too much for them to run a Black candidate?

Who?

Republicans do not care as much about race as Democrats, making the skin color a primary qualification is unhealthy.

Do you suppose that the governor of Louisiana cares whether his states senators reflect more or less light?

Louisiana is 30.6% Black, and 63.7% White.

Since 1900, the Republican party has not run one single Black candidate for the US Senate, the House or any other State office.

That would have been well over 100 candidates.

No, they do not care about race

They do not seem to care for Black Louisianans, either.

So if the races are really divided there should never be any black people elected at all.

An "Us vs Them" attitude is extremely retrograde on race.

The Democrats are an example of arrested development.

They are not forbidden , or at least they have not been forbidden since the Democratic party stopped forbidding it.

Why do you start at 1900? Were there several Black Democrats running for office in Louisiana in 1901 , or 1950?

After the Civil War, there were some Black Republicans elected in the South.

After I investigated this, I see that there never has been a Black Republican elected from Louisiana in either the Senate or the House.

The issue for Black voters is NOT whether Mary Landrieu should be punished because a flood-stricken street is no better than it was before she was elected, it is whether Mary Landrieu is a better or worse choice than the other people running.

This is a crappy ad because it does not even bother to mention the names of whom to vote FOR, let alone any reason why they would be better than Mary Landrieu.

It is like an ad that says "Don't drink Coca Cola because it was always bad tasting and has never improved."

NOT a "great ad", not a good ad, the only thing different about it is they hired some old Black dude to deliver it. It is only negative crap, and worthless to any informed voter.

The unspoken message is "stay home, do not vote at all." The Republicans LOVE it when minorities stay home.

And of course, the Democrats are also guilty of running stupid negative ads all the time. When they do, it is mostly in response to Republican negative ads.

That "old Black dude" is a Louisiana State Senator.

So doesn't he bear partial responsibility for his neighborhood?

The ad sucks, no matter who the old Black dude is.

People who vote to punish politicians rather than to get good government have the wrong idea of what government is all about.

The Republican Party has NEVER run a Black person for Senator or Representative. N E V E R.

So, yeah, color doesn't make a bit of difference to them, so long as you accept the definition that White is the absence of color.

Bobby Jindal is sort of brownish, though. Louisiana has plenty of Indians since before the there was a Louisiana. Leave it to the Republicans to import their Indian token from the other side of the planet.

Bobby Jindal is indeed a person. He is the darkest person Louisiana has ever elected to any statewide office.

Louisiana has certainly had worse governors. It is easy to be better than many of the thieves Louisiana has elected over the years.

I think it ironic that with all the American Indians Louisiana has, the Republicans decided to start their diversity plan with an Indian American.

I think it ironic that someone can acknowledge his personhood , yet refuse to consider him as an individual person.

If his ethnicity is of such importance that none of his other qualities can be considered except as second to his race ,,,, you might be a Democrat.

If his race is of such little importance that it doesn't matter that there is a negligible voting block of that race ,,, You might be a Republican.

Oh, put a cork in it.

The fact is that the Republican Party has N E V E R even nominated one single Black American to statewide office since the GOP was founded in 1856.
How many years does a bird have to waddle and quack before you can see that it is a duck and has always been a duck?

The main point here is that this is NOT any sort of great ad, because it is entirely negative. It does not advocate doing anything positive or even voting for a specific candidate. The Old Black Dude fusses and complains about how nothing in his street has changed, and he says not one word about what could have been done or should have been done.

No negative ad is ever great. All negative ads suck.
