The Cowardice of "Comprehensive Immigration Reform"

IIRC, it was approx 1 year ago, where in a large group of people, our President made it clear, and correctly so, the limits of his Presidential authority, when it comes to laws.  Hasn't stopped him of course, but rhetorically he was correct....Congress makes the laws, Congress changes existing laws.  He has no authority to supercede laws currently on the books, and he rightly said he can't do anything about current immigration laws.....to call your representatives, and get them to do it. 

We all know why of course....the more poor people let into the country, by whatever means, means greater need for Government intervention (read control).  Subsequent greater support for Democrat proposals/agenda, that requires bigger and bigger and government footprint, with a built in voting block.

Fast forward a bit, and Congress, is doing nothing, as its suposedly those dastardly Republicans preventing anything from happening.....so our Community Organizer and Chief decides to ignore his Constitutional parameters yet again, and pledges to unilaterally change existing law, by simply writing an executive order, that will simply give millions of those who came here illegally, the privilege of being here legally.  Poof.... problem solved, right?

Fast forward a bit more, and Congress has done nothing, not so much because of dastardly Republicans, but more so Democrats up for relection, realizing that their consituents not only don't have immigration as a high priority, but have actively lobbyied their representatives of their intention to support their opponent, if said respresentative is so fixated on giving amnesty to those that came into this country illegally.  Oh my, what to do? 

Ahhh, you got it.....the coward's way out.....we don't do anything until AFTER the election, thereby shelting Democrats from having to defend the indefensible, as it relates to supporting said amnesty, while the Dems still get to rake in the huge influx of new poverty level immigrants, ripe for the need of additional Governmental services, healthcare, job training, etc.......all via executive order fiat, that our President clearly indicated he wasn't legally/constitutionall allowed to do in the 1st place

Every political leader will do things at the most opportune time. It is stupid to say that President Obama is the exception.

Being as no one will ever expel all the illegals, or even attempt to do so, and the Republican Party is still hollering about "no amnesty for anyone", I see what he has done makes sense and is a wise decision.

It's not like you would ever vote for any Democrat that agreed with Obama about anything, sirs.

"Bitching" about the cowardice of Obama, and democrats in general.  Demonstrated very clearly how.  If its such a HUGE issue, and SO important that requires the President to actually supercede his Constitutional authority, that he HIMSELF, said he couldn't do, then why put it off until after the election.  He "promised action",  sent all forms of references that it would be happening in late August, perhaps Sept.

Then all of a sudden, its not so important.....until AFTER the elections?   Cowardice on grand display

   1) That the electorate will not like the action.
   2) That the electorate is deaf right now.

Politicians saying dumb crap like the border with Mexico should be sealed.
Imbecilities blaming President Obama for children riding the rails from Central America to the border.
Small children pose no threat to this country, the alternative is to refuse to take them in and and force them to hike across the deserts of Arizona, or to tell them to hike back to Central America. Utterly heartless and disgusting treatment of children, largely from the same fools who defend fetuses.

The Republicans say that they will do nothing until the border is "secure"whatever that means. Unless you are willing to kill people and put their heads on stakes
there will always be some who make it across. The greater problem is created by those who come with tourist visas and then refuse to leave.

It's outlined in the Constitution.  Supposedly he's a constitutional authority, and yet he's pledging  to do precisely what he claimed he could not constitutionally do (already has on countless occasions, so that shouldn't come as a surprise)

He's not responsible for congress & the Legislative branch.  He's responsible for the Executive Branch, specifically executing the the enforcement of current laws, including immigration laws.  Not ignore the one's he doesn't like

It means exactly what it means.....ENFORCE BORDER SECURITY AND CURRENT IMMIGRATION LAWS.  AND NO MORE PLEDGING TO ALLOW FOLKS TO COME HERE ILLEGALLY.  There's no nuance here.  Start doing that, and the GOP might start taking the President's and the Dems' word that they'll get around to border security.  It's kind of like recognizing that Israel has a right to exist.  In this case, America has a right to exist and have its laws honored/respected.  It's a non-starter in either case if the opposition isn't going to
