but is ferguson fixable?
« on: November 26, 2014, 03:09:11 AM »
I`m focusing on the future of that little town. even if next month a thousand celebrities joined and throw a charity to help that town . but will it be possible to convince any businesses to set up shop for the next ten years. I ask because I remember a drugstore got burned down in the height -ashbury as a protest against big business. the result is no major business would open there for decades. that little area was hurting for a long time.

Ferguson's residents  to pay attention to the world around then and VOTE  the Police Chief, the Mayor and the Council out of office.  The wrong cops were hired, the system of financing the city by ticketing residents constantly, and the cops should have been armed with something less fatal than guns. iF THE COPS RELY ON GUNS, CRAP LIKE THIS WILL HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.

It would certainly help, wouldn't it?

Most Japanese cops do not carry guns. They are not hated by the people they protect.

I am a law-abiding citizen. In 40 years, I have only gotten two traffic tickets and two parking tickets. In no case was I blocking traffic, endangering anyone or anywhere near a no parking sign. But I have found the local cops here in Miami totally uninterested in doing anything about stuff that was stolen from my yard, or a neighbor's kid that shot out the window with a pellet gun. The police here are rude bullies for the most part. Of course, I always obey everything they tell me. But I can't say I even like them.

Oh bullshit.
There are probably some rude bullies because they deal with lots of assholes every day.

What are they supposed to use?...harsh language??  They do (rely on guns), and this happens extremely rarely.  Sorry to punch a hole in that irrational deduction

It's typical irrational logic

Joe Citizen drives along going 51 in a 35
Joe Citizen passes several speed limit signs clearly stating the 35 mph speed limit
Cop pulls over Joe Citizen for speeding and issues a citation
Joe Citizen gets mad and thinks the police officer is an asshole.
So Joe Citizen speeds past multiple speed limit signs
But the cop is the asshole for enforcing the clearly stated law.
Go figure!

You are full of crap.

The cop has a monthly quota of tickets to make.
He knows where it is easiest to snag victims.
He lies in wait for people who like they would not give him trouble.

Ferguson will muddle through this. It will not vanish or turn into a wasteland.
The people of Fergon need to elect people they trust and force them to hire police they can trust.

The next election for Ferguson city council is liable to be a lot more interesting than the last and all previous. There might be a pretty good turnout and the voters might be very demanding.

This could be good. Things might get better.

But of course all of the potential candidates are  < Human Beings> so there is a limit to how good it can get.

If the potential shopkeepers and other employers of the area cannot be confident of safety , they can all build their shops elsewhere, so the potential of Ferguson becoming a ghost town remains a possibility.

Can the people there feel invested and energized supporting not only the new crop of politicians but also the good old local chamber of commerce?

How do you know the Chamber of Commerce is "good"?

The National Chamber of Commerce is not good at all. It's fuckin' evil.

There ya go....a perfect windown of what I and many others have said so often.  To the hard core left, it's never really a matter of right vs wrong.....its good vs evil.  Thus the rationalized ok for an ends justifies the means approach, such as lying, hypocrisy, and if necessary, illegal if not unconstitutional acts are even ok'd.  I mean, when you have to defeat "evil", you have to do whatever you can

And you are one of Satan's lesser little helpers, as it were. Although your talents are limited to parroting propaganda and blathering on and on about deflections.
