the perfect chance....
« on: April 22, 2015, 09:45:36 AM »
Obama has the perfect chance.....but he will blow it.

The UN Security Council passed a resolution 14-zip to impose an arms embargo on sending arms to the Yemen rebels.
The US has warned Iran not to send arms to the Yemen rebels.
The US has Naval ships shadowing Iranian ships almost surely taking arms (spreading terror) to the Yemen rebels.

Anyone want to bet Obama chicken-shits out and does not stop/board/interdict
the Iranian ships in violation of the UN embargo carrying arms to Yemen rebels?

Who are the Iranians fighting?

ISIS, among others.

Since the US is not on the side of either the Shiites (supported by the Iranians) or the Sunnis (supported by ISIS and AL Qaeda) it might make more sense to allow these two groups to finish one another off.

Yemen is not a threat to the US. It is just not a wise place to resupply our ships.

We had a friend in that government .

Probably too damaged now to recover controll.

We still have friends in Saudi Arabia , and friends on the ground in Yemen.

What did we promise?

I don't think that matters, with this administration, Plane.  A "promise" is just words to placate folks, that actually means nothing

It is pretty hard to imagine that Saudi Arabia is  really concerned with having a democratic pluralistic government in Yemen with equal rights for Sunni and Shia alike.

The US does not need to get involved in any sort of nation building in Yemen, and being as Yemen is already ripped apart every which way, the only solution would be to unify Yemen under one government again.

There are the fundamentalist Sunnis and the pro Iranian Shia. High Papa Lorum and Low Poppa Hiram, it's all pretty much the same, and neither is pro American.
The main reason the previous government was pro American is because the Americans bribed them with money and weapons.

It seems the best solution is to let them all get stoned on qat and leave the US alone. Easy to do, it is a long way from Sanaa to the USA
