Why does carly Fiorino use her husband's name?
« on: May 05, 2015, 12:43:51 PM »
She has been married twice, but her maiden name was Sneed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carly_Fiorina

She is not the poverty-stricken, brought herself up by her own bootstraps  sort of person she wants us to think she is.

A President Sneed in any novel would never be a good guy.

Still, it is better than President Lipshitz, President Felcher, President Hitler, President Le Batard, President Loser.

I did not say that I was opposed to a president with a weird name. I have no problem with any of that.
I have no problems with Hussein or Barack, either.

What I am calling attention to is the MARKETING of a candidate, which is silly, just as it is silly for fools to constantly carp on the Barack HUSSEIN bit. If Obama had run as "Barry", then he might deserve a bit of ridicule for doing so, but he didn't.

Perhaps you lack the sophistication to understand the discussion here.

On the contrary, I recall many a time, you took offense to when Obama's actual name Hussein, was included in criticising him.  Which included during his campaigning.  I see you're currently demonstrating more of that leftist hypocrisy in trying to criticize Fiorino for ...... her name, of all things to try and criticize?

Perhaps you lack the necessary tools to remove the blinders to your ongoing double standard

Sam Sneed was a popular guy, but there doesn't look like much connection.

I think that using a husbands name is traditional and honorable for a woman.

Even for Hillary Rodham, who is not doing anything else right at all.

I have NEVER criticized President Obama for his name.

Your memory is as defective as your knowledge of history.

There is nothing wrong with Fiorina changing her name, and nothing wrong with any of her names. I was just commenting on the thing admen call "branding".

People do not pick their names, as a rule.

I have NEVER criticized President Obama for his name.

Never said you did now, did I, Dr Doublestandard.  I said you had coniptions when anyone else dared to criticize Obama, using his Hussein portion of his name

That was because it was clearly racist to call him Hussein. Racists who do not even have the guts to admit they are racists deserve to be called out.

Thank you for reinforcing the point about the double standard.  Where you can supposedly criticise a Republican's name, she's not even using, but go apesnot if someone(s) dares to take your political messiah's name in vane

Racists who do not even have the guts to admit they are racists deserve to be called out.

While "racists" who aren't racists, in any way, shape, or form, have no need to admit something, they're not.  That requires you to actually prove said racism, with more than just your erroneous calling out say so.  Here's a hint....racists are the folks that think races should "stick together", that see race in nearly every aspect of life, and that certain races wouldn't have been able to manage with out the help of an apparently more superior race

I do not have to prove shit, sirs.

I did not say anyone should vote against Fiorino because of her name. I was only commenting on the marketing of candidates.

Of course you don't have to prove it.  That's literally your track record, making up garbage, proclaiming 1 error-riddled accusation after another, based on nothing more than your say so.  that's what we've all come to expect.  Nor did I claim you were implying people shouldn't vote for Fiorino either, Dr. Deflection.  I merely pointed out & commented on your transparent double standard

What double standard?

All I have said is that some candidates have names that are harder to market than others.
Barack Hussein Obama and Carly Sneed Fiorino are harder to market than say, Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
Rick Scott is a GREAT name to market, but perhaps not so great as Charlie Crist. At least among Christians.
Cris Christie has to be the best name around for marketing purposes.

In Israel, Moses Einstein would have to be the greatest name.

What double standard?

As has already been explained...that'd be the one where its ok to ridicule & make light of Fiorino's name, FOR WHATEVER REASON, be it marketing or whatever, that she's not even using,
but
dare to use Obama's actual middle name in vane, and you're immediately branded, erroneously of course, a racist

  Two things.

Some names are more euphonious than others , and a good sounding name is an advantage.
Check, this is simple and true, but, I hope, a small effect.

Barak Hussein Obama had racist parents.

How elese could he have gotten this as his name?

        Myth busted?

I don't think this is in any way true.

His mother at the time of his birth was living in Hawaii and was surely not thinking of the possibility of marketing her son as a politician.
The attitude towards Muslims in the US at that time was nothing like what it is today.
