The point of the article is not obsolete. Violence in Baghdad is way, way down. The beginning phase of the surge is going quite positively.


Then accuse me of taking some sort of glee that the insurgents are off and running again.

But the terrorists are not "off and running again." This is only in your own mind. They are cowards. Their leaders have fled. Sadr is hiding in Iran. Baghdad has been pretty calm over the past 5 days. About 500 families have returned home already.
