When we say the word "fundamentalist Muslim", we think "fanatical murderous Muslim"
Translated into Arabic, it comes out like "devout Muslim". The US cannot say it is at war with devout Muslims. That would create far more problem than it could ever solve.

Stalin had almost complete control over the central Asian "stans", all of which were and are Muslim. Yet after a few attempts to attack Islam, he wisely gavce up. One cannot fight a religion, as that creates martyrs and that strengthens the resolve and stirs up more opposition.
I have been all over this debate many times and am not going to bother with it again, except to say that Ted Cruz is a grandstanding asshole. He will never be president because he is obnoxious.
