The mega rich in this country are very far from being rocks. They are more like watermelons. Never have so few owned so much of this country.

The mega rich are a mere fraction of the residents of this country,  but they're being taxed up the wazoo to support over 50% of Government's function.   That's just a fact, and its not just ignorant, but foolish to think that you can just tax them more to get what you want.  That's an increasingly less stable financial foundation for a country the size of the United States

Unless the trend toward and even greater disparity of incomes in this country is stopped,.....

My point is that government policies are in part responsible for this trend.

Consider that it is much easier for a very large corporation  to deal with hyperregulation and high tax rates than for small businesses and startups.

The government is squeezing the middle and eliminating the lower scale employers.

Little wonder that there is a gap developing between the high and low , the government is depending on the high so much that they practically collude with them.

Even if not on purpose then certainly in practice.

Corporations are one thing, wealthy individuals are a different matter.
Any individual can incorporate themselves, or form a trust, thereby gaining whatever advantages a corporation or a trust has.

A trust is the recommended method by which an individual manages his estate when he dies or becomes incapable of managing it himself.

Are there a lot of examples of individuals becoming wealthy with no connection to one or more corporations?

Besides , Corporations are taxed , individuals are taxed , the distinction is not important to this point.

The big fortunes can do what it takes to preserve their collection of capitol, medium and small ones can't.

The big fortunes can do what it takes to preserve their collection of capitol, from the government, medium and small ones can't.

Anyone that has even a small business can easily hire a lawyer and set up a trust.

It is not corporations that are the biggest donors that are purchasing our candidates: it is mega rich individuals, Like Sheman Adelson, the Kochs,  Icahn and others.
There are a dozen oof them that donate to the GOP for every one that donates to the Democrats.

Of course, now we do not know who is donating how much and to whom, as Citizens United made anonymous donations quite easy.

As far as "mega rich individuals" goes, the last several election cycles has shown an approximate 5:1 rich dem donators to those donating to GOP.  And that's under estimating,  as that ratio is likely higher.  Not long ago, Cu4 posted the richest individual political donators, and I think there were only 2 in the top 10 that donated Republican.   Might have even only been 1.

Funny thing.....with that factoid, the rationalization that'd be employed would be how necessary those donations are to combat those evil Republicans.   It's just another ends justifies the means approach that similarly rationalizes the anything-buy-transparent MSM bias

Once again. .... wrong again.   Never made or even implied such a thing.  Its the left that's so preoccupied with how much someone makes.....or their race.  Not sure what the GOP party stands for, but conservatives stand on the side of Freedom vs Oppression.....Responsibility vs group think.

You are soooo full of crap.

Conservatives only want to conserve the status quo, which favors them.
