Trump is a total asshole. He quotes no figures to support what he claims, and most Mexicans in the US, here legally or not, are not rapists and thieves. The main result of Trump's rantings is a very small percentage of Hispanic voters will vote Republican.

If the swarm of Republican hopefuls want to get the votes of any of these people, they will need to repudiate Trump.

I have not heard of anyone being for reduction of legal immigration.

There are a lot of various proposals , but I consider it inevitable that legal immigration be increased. 

If I am wrong about this please let me know.

Plane....Trump would make a great President, but the entrenched corrupt "we don't do things that way" groups from BOTH parties do not like him. Their friends in the media are already on an all out mega-blitz to destroy Trump. He threatens their corrupt apple-cart. I told a friend this week that even if he got the nomination and/or was elected I honestly believe they would assassinate him. He threatens all the old guard...he doesnt need anyone's money.....threats/boycotts don't faze him....he threatens the collusion/corrupted leaders from both parties that have delivered us to the pathetic position the country is now in. I doubt he can overcome the corrupted machine that runs this country, but it would sure be interesting to watch the dirty rats squeal and scatter if he did get elected.

Trump is an egomaniac, and so are many, perhaps a majority, of the members of Congress, the military brass and much of the leadership of the bureaucracy. A Trump presidency would be a constant exchange of stupid insults and exaggerations and would make this country a laughingstock of the entire planet.

Running the government of this country requires someone who is at the very least capable of discussing issues civilly with people who have a wide range of opinions. And I find the idea that Trump would eliminate corruption laughable: the dude is corrupt to the core. All he thinks about is himself and his reputation as top dog.

Trump has very few of the qualities that would make an effective, or ever tolerable, president. Trump makes Putin look good.

But look at the notice he and his "brand" are getting right now.

This could be enough to satisfy , and he is getting it already.
Watch him sell a book now, or give televised advice , or in a dozen other ways harvest this .

As a second possibility , he could show up at a contested convention with enough delegates to wheel and deal with them, this would not have to be a really great number, just enough to fill the hole in someone else's ranks.


Thirdly , it isn't impossible that he could be chosen, and he could be running against Hillary Clinton , the Democrat with whom he has the most in common.

Then....silence. He did not find shit, because if he had, his huge desire for attention would have caused him to reveal it by now.

Hillary Clinton did NOT send teams of investigators to Honolulu to investigate Obama';s birth certificate, and AT NO POINT did she or anyone affiliated with her claim that
they had discovered "surprising things" about what they found.

The Donald has never revealed what these "surprising things" were.
Trump resurrected the whole birther bit after it had almost vanished into the category of crazy internet gossip.


It only matters as this point because it is an example of what a total grandstanding gasbag Trump is.
Obama is clearly not going to be evicted from the White House because he is a foreigner.

The one constant thing about Trump is his implacable desire to get attention. He feels compelled to be the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral.
